Fortnite players can relive the Chapter 1 experience thanks to Season OG. During the month of November, gamers will be able to replay the original Fortnite map, and it will update on a weekly basis in order to cycle from Season 5 to Season X. Items and named locations that were part of the game back then will gradually become available on the island.

Season OG started out with the items and locations that were available during Season 5, but that time has passed, and players are now reliving Season 8. Soon enough, Seasons 9 and X will arrive, and this guide will tell gamers exactly when they can expect it to start.

Updated on November 23, 2023, by Ashely Claudino: This guide has been updated to contain information on the recently released v27.11 update.

Update v27.11 became available on November 21, but no changes were made to the game immediately. Fortnite Season OG updates come out on Tuesdays, but they only go live on Thursdays. So, even though players were able to download the content patch, Seasons 9 and X will actually only be available on November 23 at 9 AM ET.

What to Expect from Seasons 9 and X

Season 9 and X items and locations were added to the game files in the third patch of Fortnite Season OG; the first one vaulted Season 5 items in order to welcome Season 6. The Season 7 and Season 8 patch brought back even more to the table, not only because it’s unvaulted items and POIs from two seasons at once but also because it added an entire biome to the Season OG map. Here is what players can expect to happen to Fortnite on Thursday:

Since this was the final update this season, the changes made in this patch will likely hang around until the end of Fortnite Season OG. Gamers will be able to enjoy Season OG until Epic’s Fortnite playlists are disabled at 12 PM ET on December 2; after this, they’ll only be able to watch the Big Bang live event at 2 PM ET or play Creator-made islands.
