Like most everything else in the game, Sorceries also get a large influx of new options for mages looking to expand their repertoire of available spells in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Cherishing Fingers is an area-of-effect Sorcery that can be obtained by players who complete Count Ymir’s questline in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr in the DLC. Unlike most quest rewards, Cherishing Fingers is very easy to miss as it is not directly added to the player inventory; it has to be picked up. Here is its location.

Cherishing Fingers Spell Overview & Stat Requirements

cherishing fingers sorcery details in elden ring shadow of the erdtree

A finger sorcery of Count Ymir, aspiring mother of fingers. The dear fingers look after their mother, or perhaps that is merely what the mother wishes to believe.

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Cherishing Fingers is a new Sorcery of the Finger Sorceries spell category. When cast, this spell creates a dome of fingers around the user in a small area that deflects incoming attacks and damages anything it comes into contact with. This is a close-range spell and is meant to be used against enemies or bosses that like to get up close and personal. It also increases poise and has a relatively short casting animation, increasing it’s effectiveness in PvP. As a Finger Sorcery, it is boosted by the Finger Robe (modified High Priest Robe) and the Maternal Staff, both of which are rewards for defeating Count Ymir.

The Cherishing Fingers Sorcery costs 20 FP to cast, and can be charged for greater potency. To equip Cherishing Fingers, you must have 1 Memory Slots available.

Surrounds the caster with a mesh of hefty fingers that wards all manner of projectiles, whether magical or physical in nature, away from the caster. Charging enhances potency.

Even though the
Maternal Staff
does increase the effectiveness of finger sorceries, the

Albinauric Staff

is technically better in almost all scenarios.
