Time is a key element of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and every moment that passes is another survivor to save. Getting around the mall can be tedious, especially when you factor in psychos that appear along a path you’ve already walked down many times.

The Maintenance Tunnels offer a great way to get around as long as you can get through the waves of zombies. Upon entering the maintenance tunnels for the first time, Otis will call to let you know he lost the keys somewhere down in the tunnel; here’s where to find them.

Where To Find The Maintenance Tunnel Key In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

The only way to enter the maintenance tunnels when you first start the game is by heading to Leasure Park in the center of the mall. Head to the top left section of the park on the map to where the red arrow is, showing the pathway to the parking lot by the entrance to the maintenance tunnel. In that parking garage will be a car and motorcycle, and it is highly recommended you take the car. Along the left wall will be the entrance to the maintenance tunnel, which you will be able to enter while driving.

The key itself is found in the storage room found near the middle of the tunnels, and you have to get past a sea of zombies to get there, which will require some powerful weapons. With so many zombies, there are a few ways players can push past easily to get to the key:

• Drive a car
• Push a shopping cart
• Shoot propane tanks

By far the best option is the car, as they will also be your main method of getting around in the tunnels once you have the key. Once in the storage room, look along the back right corner underneath a ladder for a blue star icon marking the key’s location.

What Does The Maintenance Tunnel Key Do?

Once you have the key in hand, you’ll be able to access the maintenance tunnels from various locations around the mall, making travel in this game much easier. With a car, these tunnels can be quick ways to travel from one side of the store to another without passing much time, and while running over hundreds of zombies to level up. All the maintenance tunnel entrances will now be yellow on the map and can be utilized coming from either direction.
