Wuthering Waves offers players a lot of quality-of-life features to make the process of building up their characters easier overall. Echoes function as equipable items or artifact sets players can equip on their characters to make their stats go higher and use echo skills in combat.

The end-game loop in Wuwa revolves around farming these echoes for the players’ main Resonators. Luckily, Kuro Games offers a way to make this process a whole lot easier for 4-cost boss echoes using something called Enhanced Drop Rate.

How Does Enhanced Drop Rate Work In Wuthering Waves

enhanced drop rate in wuthering waves

Enhanced Drop Rate is a weekly bonus echo drop system that allows players to farm for specific Overlord/Calamity Class echoes (4-cost) by increasing the base drop rate of these echoes 15 times per week.

Every time a player defeats an Overlord or Calamity Class enemy, the chance for that enemy to drop their echo is increased from their normal drop rate to the Enhanced Drop Rate. The exact percentage of the Enhanced Drop Rate is based on the player’s Data Bank level and goes up as it increases. Players can check this percentage under Data Bank Info.

In one week, players only get 15 chances to use the Enhanced Drop Rate, and once all 15 chances are utilized, their drop rate is lowered to the normal amount.

If there are Enhanced Drop Rate chances remaining, each kill of a boss will consume one out of the 15 chances, even if the boss doesn’t drop an echo. For this reason, a player’s best bet would be to increase their Data Bank level before attempting to use their 15 weekly chances in order to maximize the results.

The Enhanced Drop Rate doesn’t affect the rarity of the dropped echo, which is determined by the Data Bank level. Players can check which rarity they’re likely to get by checking the ‘Highest Drop Rarity’ tab under their Data Bank Info. Before level 15, there is no chance of any 5-Star echo drops.

The Enhanced Drop Rate system only applies to Overlord and Calamity Class enemies. Elite and Normal class Tacet Discords are not a part of this system. This means that as long as players stick to 3-cost or 1-cost echo farming, they won’t consume any of their Enhanced Drop Rate chances on the echo drops that they get.

How To Use Enhanced Drop Rate In Wuthering Waves

A boss echo dropping in Wuthering Waves

To make effective use of Enhanced Drop Rate, at the start of every week, players should use all 15 chances to farm the Overlord/Calamity Boss echo their characters need the most.

So, if a player wants to build Calcharo with the Thundering Mephis echo, they would start the week by farming 15 Thundering Mephis to consume all 15 Enhanced Drop Rate chances before doing anything else. The benefit to this approach is that players may need to farm Ascension materials from Calamity/Overlord enemies they don’t necessarily want the echoes of. Players would free up the rest of their week to normal gameplay by getting the difficult part out of the way first.

Enhanced Drop Rate only becomes relevant at higher Data Bank levels. There is no point using it strategically before level 15, as any 4-Star echoes players obtain will eventually be replaced by 5-Stars.

Once the Enhanced Drop Rate runs out, players can still farm Overlord and Calamity class bosses very easily using the Echo Pity System in Wuthering Waves, which ensures that one 4-cost echo will drop every two kills.

When Does Enhanced Drop Rate Reset?

Enhanced Drop Rate resets every week on Monday at 4:00 AM server time. Since each of the five servers follows a different time zone, the weekly reset timer is also different for each server.

An easy way to check the exact time of when the weekly reset should happen is using the Pioneer Podcast. Under Weekly Highlights in the Podcast Quests tab, there will be a timer showing the exact time when the reset is supposed to happen. Players can use this timer as a reference point.

Enhanced Drop Rate Doesn’t Reset Bug

In certain cases, the Enhanced Drop Rate remaining chances will not reappear during the weekly reset. This issue typically occurs for players whose Data Bank level is not maxed out (level 20). The easy solution to this problem is to earn enough Data Bank EXP to level up to the next rank, which should reset the remaining chances. Players can earn Data Bank EXP by collecting new echoes, finding echoes of increasing rarity, and leveling up the Guidebook Milestones.
