Wuthering Waves: How To Solve The Cube Puzzle (The Fabled Magnetic Cube Mechanics Quest Guide)

Wuthering Waves has an ample number of side quests available for players to test out their puzzle solving skills. Most of the hard puzzles are featured in the exploration quests, which unlock regions for players. However, there are a few side quests out there that have some puzzles which can be quite difficult.

The Fabled Magnetic Cube Mechanics Quest in Wuthering Waves is a 3-day quest where players have to solve three puzzles over the course of three days in real time to complete this lengthy quest. This means, in total, there are nine puzzles to solve, each with a 24-hour gap in between.

There is
no option
of using the in-game timer to speed up the quest.

How To Unlock The Fabled Magnetic Cube Mechanics – Quest One

This side quest can be found at Tiger’s Maw Mine. You’ll need to find the NPC – Rambling and Wandering Engineer who will be at the bottom of the mine in front of a steel door. Talk to him to trigger the quest and then head upstairs to find Mizhi. There are three mechanics to solve here to complete the quest. Follow this step-by-step guide to find out how:

Mechanics Puzzle One

1. The only way to move the cube is to attack it. For the first move, hit the cube so that it moves one space to the right.
2. Then, hit it one space down.
3. Hit it one space left towards the Magnetic Conveyor and then back up.
4. Then, hit it one space left, and then down to complete the puzzle.

Talk to Mizhi when you’re done to unlock the next puzzle.

Mechanics Puzzle Two

The next puzzle is a little different as now there are barriers which will hinder the cube’s movement.

1. Move the cube up two times and then one space left.
2. Lastly, hit it so that it moves downwards to complete the puzzle.

Talk to Mizhi again to unlock the third and final puzzle for Day One.

Mechanics Puzzle Three

There are quite a few barriers in this puzzle, so just follow this guide to successfully solve it:

1. First, destroy the two boxes that you see. Then, interact with the control panel that will appear after destroying the bottom-most box. You need to interact with it to move the hologram barrier away.
2. Next, head to the cube and move it one space to the right.
3. Then, move it one space down and two spaces to the left. You need to make sure that the hologram barrier has been moved all the way down so that the cube can go through.
4. Interact with the control panel again to move the hologram barrier up again. This will bring it back to its original place. You can then move the cube one space down and one space to the right to complete the puzzle.

Talk to Mizhi to complete the puzzle and then wait until the next one unlocks tomorrow.

How To Unlock The Fabled Magnetic Cube Mechanics – Quest Two

Since this quest is time-gaited, you will have to wait 24 hours in real time for it to unlock. Wait for Mizhi to Unravel the Ultimate Mechanics. Since Mizhi has gone missing, Qingshu will be located on the upper level of Tiger’s Maw Mine. She will be your new NPC for this next round of mechanics puzzles to solve.

Mechanics Puzzle One

1. Interact with the Control Panel on the bottom left of the area.
2. Move the cube one space down.
3. Then, move it one space to the left.
4. Next, one space up and one space right. Then go back to interact with the control panel.
5. And then move the cube one space down and finally one space right to complete the puzzle.

Talk to Qingshu again to unlock the next puzzle.

Mechanics Puzzle Two

1. Interact with the Control Panel in the middle. This will move the magnetic conveyors.
2. Move the cube one space to the right and then one space down.
3. Interact with the Control Panel again to move the magnetic conveyors.
4. Then, move the cube one space to the right, one space up, and one space to the left.
5. Next, move it one space up and the puzzle will be complete.

Mechanics Puzzle Three

1. Interact with the Control Panel. This will move the barriers and magnetic conveyors.
2. Hit the cube once to move it one space to the right.
3. Move it one space up, and then go back to interact with the control panel.
4. Push the cube towards the left, interact with the control panel, and then push the cube to your right.
5. Then, move the cube one space down, interact with the control panel again, and push it one space up.
6. Lastly, push the cube towards the right and you’ll have completed the puzzle.

Afterward, you’ll then have to head to the abandoned mine as per the navigation to rescue Mizhi. After doing so, the quest will be complete, and you have to wait another 24 hours for the third and final part of the series.

How To Unlock The Fabled Magnetic Mechanics – Quest Three

The final quest will once again unlock after 24 hours, so just head back to Tiger’s Maw Mine to find Qingshu and Mizhi again.

Mechanics Puzzle One

1. Destroy the wooden crates in the area.
2. Move the cube one space left. Since there will be a magnetic conveyor in this puzzle, the cube will teleport to the next square.
3. Move it one space left again.
4. Move it one space up. Once the cube has teleported, move it one space down.
5. Then, move the cube one space up again. It will teleport back to the left, and then all you have to do is move it one space up and the puzzle will be complete.

Mechanics Puzzle Two

1. Move the cube one space up. This will teleport it to the left.
2. Interact with the control panel in the middle to switch the placement of one of the magnetic conveyors.
3. Move the cube one space to the right and then one space to the left (back to the previous position). The cube will teleport to the other side.
4. Next, move it one space right. After it teleports again, interact with the control panel andmove it one space left.
5. Then, you need to move it one space to the right again (the previous position).
6. This will teleport the cube up again, so just hit it one space up and the puzzle will be complete.

Mechanics Puzzle Three

1. Interact with the control panel. Move the cube one space to the right. Then, move the cube one space down. Moving it down will teleport it to a new place. Once the cube is teleported, move it one space down again.
2. The cube will have teleported once again to the left of the area. But, before doing anything, first interact with the control panel again and this will change the layout of the magnetic conveyors.
3. Move the cube to the right. Then, move it back to the left.
4. This will teleport it to the right side of the grid. So you have to move it one space up.
5. After the cube has teleported again, move it one space up again.
6. Move the cube to the left and then go interact with the control panel.
7. Finally, move the cube to the right and one space down to complete the puzzle.

There’s a lot of back and forth in these puzzles, but remember that if you mess up, you can always leave the area and come back to a new puzzle. Additionally, you can backtrack on your previous move and continue on.

Completing all the puzzles will give players a chance to claim a chest, so just follow the blue marker once you’re done.
