My Time at Sandrock has just been added to the Xbox Game Pass content library. This is the ninth title to reach Microsoft’s subscription service in June 2024, and the 79th new Xbox Game Pass release since the turn of the year.

Developed by Chinese studio Pathea Games, My Time at Sandrock is a sequel to the critically acclaimed My Time at Portia. Much like that 2018 game, its 2023 follow-up combines elements of an open-world RPG and a farming sim. My Time at Sandrock launched to fairly widespread acclaim, as underlined by its OpenCritic aggregate score of 76, as well as nearly 20,000 “Very Positive” Steam user reviews.

The game itself is a fairly distinct package that combines elements of several genres, including action RPGs and farming sims. My Time at Sandrock also offers a surprisingly cozy experience for a game taking place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It tasks players with supporting the titular town of Sandrock by building structures, crafting things, and developing relationships with its denizens. As such, the game might appeal to Stardew Valley fans, especially if they happen to be partial to open-world exploration and adventuring rather than just farming and socializing.

My Time at Sandrock is the ninth new game to reach Microsoft’s subscription service since the turn of the month. Five more titles are confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in June 2024, starting with the June 20 release of TARO’s sandbox RPG Keplerth.

EA Sports FC 24 is then scheduled to reach the service five days later, being set to debut as part of the EA Play catalog that’s exclusive to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. From there, SteamWorld Dig and its sequel will arrive on June 26, followed by ARPG Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders on June 27.
