Xbox has reportedly recruited Hundred Star, the development studio formed by Rocksteady co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, to work on a new game. The collaboration with Xbox would be the first project from the ex-Rocksteady heads since leaving the Batman: Arkham developer in late 2022.

Hundred Star is a new UK-based studio, which was founded by Hill and Walker in 2023. As mentioned on the official company website, the developer consists of 100 employees and is focused on making AAA games. As a matter of fact, it may also currently be on the lookout to hire more talent.

Batman Arkham: Scariest Moments, Ranked

Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series harbors some incredibly scary moments, thanks to the often terrifying Rogues Gallery that Batman is trapped with.

According to Exputer, Xbox Game Studios is working on a new AAA title with Hundred Star. The console giant has reportedly signed an agreement to fund the British developer’s project. Moreover, it is suggested that the team working on the forthcoming game could include over 20 former Rocksteady employees that joined Hill and Walker after they left the Batman: Arkham developer midway during the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Xbox and Hundred Stars to Work on a New Game

As per the source, Hundred Star’s first game is reportedly an action-adventure single-player title built in Unreal Engine 5. Furthermore, it is expected that the game will come out for Xbox consoles and PC. However, keeping in mind Xbox’s recent multiplatform approach, there are chances for the game to land on rival consoles eventually.

The latest contribution from Hundred Star’s Hill and Walker is 2024’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was widely panned upon its release. The duo initially oversaw the Arkhamverse game’s development but left Rocksteady before it was completed. While their involvement in a recent disastrous game may concern some fans, it is important to note that the former Rocksteady chiefs have a proven track record in the particular genre of their next game, which is single-player action-adventure.

Notably, Hill has vast experience closely leading the development of some of the best games from Rocksteady. To be precise, he directed most of the company’s massive hits, such as Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight, over the past decade and a half. With Hill at the helm of the new studio, fans may expect to see a top-tier gaming experience similar to that found in his iconic Arkham trilogy.
