Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the very first game in the long-running series. Players who are just beginning their journey into the franchise can play it after Yakuza 0. Kiwami follows Kiryu as he gets falsely accused of murdering his boss. It’s an essential part of Kiryu’s story, and it’s now available on Nintendo Switch.
Substories are a huge part of every game in the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series. These are side quests where Kiryu can help everyday citizens with their problems. These can be some of the most fun and goofy parts of the game. You’ll have to find these substories all by yourself unless you get the Trouble Finder. The Trouble Finder is a very useful item that will reveal all the substories on the map. This way, you can do all these zany side missions for experience and other rewards. Follow this guide to learn where to get the Trouble Finder and how to use it in Yakuza Kiwami.

7 Yakuza Games Are Getting New Physical Editions
Seven games in Ryu Ga Gotoku’s Like a Dragon series are all getting brand-new collector physical editions, starting with two essential Yakuza games.
Trouble Finder Location
The only way to get the Trouble Finder is by purchasing it from Bob Utsunomiya. Bob is a clown who acts as a shop owner in the Yakuza series. You can find him at the entrance to Tenkaichi Street, near the southwestern-most point of the map. Look for him to the south of New Serena bar by the usable taxi. He’ll be hard to miss.
The Trouble Finder costs four CP (Completion Points.) You can earn these points by finishing certain challenges. Check the Completion Points checklist in the pause menu to learn what you need to do. These challenges can be exploration-based, like eating the entire menu from different restaurants. There are also challenges tied to combat and defeating certain amounts of enemies. You will need to buy the first three upgrades before the Trouble Finder as they unlock one by one.
How to Use the Trouble Finder
The Trouble Finder will not work unless you equip it. Open up Kiryu’s inventory in the pause menu. Go to the weapon and accessories section. Click on the Trouble Finder to equip it as an accessory. Unfortunately, it takes up one accessory slot. You can swap it out for better accessories when you’re not exploring and fighting difficult bosses.
After you’ve equipped the Trouble Finder, all available substories will be revealed on the map/mini-map as exclamation points in a grey square. Keep in mind that some substories are tied to certain chapters. Equip the Trouble Finder at the beginning of new chapters to spot new people to help.
