The massively popular digital trading card game from Konami has experimented with a wide variety of different events, offering unique gimmicks and deck building restrictions. Master Duel‘s “Duel Trial” events often feature bite-sized objectives, granting one copy of the newest Selection Pack as a reward for achieving three wins. The newest event is putting the spotlight on the game’s recent World Championships.

Last weekend saw the thrilling conclusion of the competitive Yu-Gi-Oh season with Konami hosting the World Championships for the trading card game. The weekend-long event featured the final tournaments for the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links, and Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel as a grand celebration of the Konami card game. Master Duel‘s World Championships was eventually won by North America’s Team 7, built from a star-studded lineup of pro players Jesse Kotton, Ryan Yu, and Raymond Dai. Now, players are getting the chance to try out the winning decks in Master Duel‘s newest event.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel rolled out its newest Duel Trial event late last week, with the “WCS 2024 Rental Competition” providing players with some of the game’s best decks. Players can choose any of six different decks, including powerful strategies like “Tearlaments” and “Yubel,” to complete the event’s main challenge. Achieving three wins using a Loaner Deck in the Duel Trial rewards players with one pack of the game’s newest Selection Pack, “Advance of Great Forces.” The event will be available in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel until September 18.

The decks available in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s newest event feature some of the strongest themes ever seen in the digital card game. Players looking to use one of Ryan Yu’s strategies have the option to choose between the dominant “Fire King Snake-Eyes” deck and the versatile “Vanquish Soul” strategy. Jesse Kotton’s selection features both the “Horus Tearlament” deck that Kotton piloted throughout most of the tournament, as well as a “Salamangreat” deck. Raymond Dai’s decks focus around a pair of strategies with powerful individual monsters in “Yubel” and “Purrely.”

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s newest event comes as the digital trading card game has seen plenty of reasons to celebrate throughout recent months. Master Duel officially passed the 70 million downloads milestone earlier this year in August, launching a login campaign that rewarded fans with plenty of Gems and packs. Yu-Gi-Oh also recently received some major mainstream publicity, with Olympian Noah Lyles not afraid to show off his fandom for the card game during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s newest event gives fans a taste of six decks powerful enough for the game’s most skilled players.
