Like most modern Nintendo games, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom allows players to use their amiibo figures to receive special items. This feature has become a fixture in Zelda games, with the figures offering players a way to quickly obtain materials, and sometimes even one-of-a-kind items. While Echoes of Wisdom does allow players to use amiibo figures, there are some important limitations that players should be aware of. This guide will walk players through how to use amiibo figures in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

How to Use Amiibo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

When players first start their Echoes of Wisdom playthroughs, they’ll likely notice the “amiibo” option in the System menu is greyed-out and cannot be accessed. While it’s true that you cannot use Amiibo immediately, you will not have to wait long to gain access to the mechanics.

EoW-Amiibo-Notice

When the time comes, you’ll get a message in the pause menu that notifies you when amiibo can be used. There was not a major event that signaled this for us, other than generally being released into the open-world. However, we did not immediately get the notice. Instead, it occurred shortly after exiting Beach Cave. We got access to amiibo just before learning Echoes of Wisdom‘s fast-travel mechanic.

Once we received the notice, we were free to use amiibo. However, there are strict limitations on how often you can use amiibo in Echoes of Wisdom.

  • You can only use amiibo three times a day. After that, you will get a notice stating that you can no longer use amiibo for the day.

It appears that you can only

from
The Legend of Zelda.
It does not matter which game they represent, only that they are
from the

. Figures from other franchises are widely reported as coming up incompatible. If we find any non-
Zelda
figures that do work, we will update this guide to reflect that.

Amiibo Rewards in Echoes of Wisdom:

During the early game sections, using amiibo appears to only get you Smoothie materials and monster parts. You can get a wide variety of these materials, but only three times a day. Once you complete Hyrule Castle, amiibo will have the chance to drop cosmetic outfits for Zelda. We do not currently have confirmation on the complete list of outfits, but they will be added as soon as we have it.
