Players had a small inside look into Seth’s skit during the Zenless Zone Zero special episode story quest, allowing them to test him out before deciding to get him. Seth is a Defence-Electric character from the Criminal Investigation Response Team, who not only provides shielding but also buffs his teammates in ZZZ. Seth’s main role seems to be buffing the Anomaly Proficiency of his team members.

He also focuses on providing a Shield buff to allies with a quick assist that provides Electric DMG. A good amount of Anomaly damage is built up with his shield and if players position him before their DPS, they can easily make use of the Anomaly debuff brought by it. Seth’s Resolve needs to be charged to the maximum to trigger his combos, which is why it’s important to know Seth’s build in ZZZ.

Seth Skills, Explained – Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero- Seth Skills, Explained

There are not many Defense characters in Zenless Zone Zero who have a kit as flexible as Seth’s. He has a unique mechanic called Resolve which caps out 100%, and when you consume 75%, it launches an Enhanced Basic Attack. Aside from this gimmick, his EX Special Attack and Core Skill are very advantageous in a fight. When Seth uses his EX Special Attack, he will grant himself a “Shield of Firm Resolve” that scales off his ATK and is held by a maximum of 3000 points. This shield is rechargeable every 10 seconds and buffs Anomaly Proficiency, but it is vital to know how to capitalise on this.

The shield can be given to his teammates by triggering his Enhanced Basic Attack and Assist Follow-Up, which in turn triggers Quick Assist of the Agent before him. This will then grant them the Shield of Firm Resolve and the Anomaly debuff on the enemy will make it easier for your DPS to attack. His abilities also provide an Anomaly Proficiency shield for all teammates using Parry, into Defensive Assist, into Assist Follow-Up, into Quick Assist.

Seth Best W-Engines In ZZZ – Zenless Zone Zero

According to the 1.1 Livestream, it seems the Peacekeeper – Specialized is Seth’s best W-Engine in ZZZ. Peacekeeper – Specialized is an A-Rank W-Engine and compliments Seth’s kit extremely well. The W-Engine is a defensive one that specialises in increasing Energy Regeneration and Anomaly Buildup when Shielded. This works perfectly with Seth’s Core Skill as the additional Anomaly Buildup will Support his teammates well.

On the other hand, if players can’t obtain Seth’s signature W-Engine, another viable option is the Spring Embrace. This can be obtained from the Battle Pass and though it doesn’t measure up to the synchronization of his Signature, it provides a decent Energy Regeneration buff that can be triggered through his Parry. The next best option is the Bunny Band W-Engine, which grants him increased ATK% when they are shielded, which pairs well since Seth’s shield is built off his ATK.

Lastly, Big Cylinder and Identity-Base are some A-Rank W-Engines that could work on Seth as the last available option. They aren’t the best, since they are more attuned to Ben’s skills with its increased DEF %. However, triggering the critical hits obtained can occasionally work in Seth’s favour, until players can secure better options.

Seth Best Drive Discs In ZZZ – Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero- Seth Best Drive Discs

Equipping Seth with a Defence Drive Disc makes no sense since his abilities scale off his ATK and take advantage of his Anomaly applicability. To make use of his capabilities as a Support, using the 4-piece Swing Jazz will be extremely useful when launching Chain or Ultimate Attacks. The 2-piece stat also increases Energy Regeneration, which is vital when trying to build Seth’s Resolve faster to trigger his EX Special Attack. For the 2-pieces left of his Drive Disc combo, it would be best to choose either Hormone Punk to max out his ATK. Remember, Seth’s shield is built off his ATK, so using Hormone Punk for your 2-piece would be ideal. Another option would be the Thunder Metal as it provides a decent amount of additional Electric DMG that would help Seth’s attacks.

When it comes to stats, focus on CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG for his 4-slot, Electric DMG on his 5-slot, and Energy Regeneration on his 6-slot. You can also opt to equip Seth with ATK% stats on Disc 4 and 5, since that can also help the durability of his shield. For sub-stats, focus on ATK%, Energy Regeneration, Anomaly Proficiency and DEF% in that specific order, with ATK and Energy Regeneration being the most important for Seth to make use of his spectacular Support abilities.

If you don’t plan to build Seth in an Anomaly-based team, this build also works with other characters, since his shield can be triggered as long as you know how to do it efficiently. Players are less likely to use his Ultimate when playing him, relying mainly on his Chain Attacks and Assist Attacks to make most use of the shield.
