The highly rated indie game Cocoon is discounted by 50% on Steam for a limited time. One of the most notable games published by Annapurna Interactive, Cocoon was the winner of Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2023.

Developed by Denmark-based studio Geometric Interactive, Cocoon is a puzzle game played from a third-person perspective. In the title, players control an insect-like creature and travel through different worlds to solve various puzzles and unravel cosmic secrets. Built under the supervision of studio co-founder and lead gameplay designer Jeppe Carlsen, renowned for his work on Limbo and Inside, Cocoon stood out from the crowd despite being released during a year filled with several major hits from the likes of Sony and Nintendo. Beyond its victory at The Game Awards in 2023, the indie title also bagged multiple Game of the Year nominations, going toe-to-toe with triple-A behemoths, such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Spider-Man 2.

For those who haven’t explored Cocoon‘s microscopic worlds yet, the game is currently selling for the record-low price of $12.49 (50% off) on Steam. Available as part of the Steam Autumn Sale, players can claim this limited-time discount until December 4 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This is only the second time that Geometric Interactive’s award-winning debut title, Cocoon, has received a discounted price on Valve’s digital storefront in the past four months.


The Game Awards 2023 Winner Sees Its Lowest-Ever Price on Steam


Cocoon‘s current price is its lowest ever on Steam, beating the last notable price drop that took place in late October. During the Steam Scream Fest sale, the indie puzzle title was available at a 40% discount. Along with Cocoon, a variety of Annapurna Interactive-published games are up for grabs at slashed prices during the ongoing promotional sale. These games range from the action-adventure genre to walking simulators. For the duration of the Steam Autumn Sale, the post-apocalyptic cat game Stray is listed for $17.99 (40% discount), whereas the monochromatic puzzle title Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, which recently got its PlayStation release date, is up for $18.74 (25% discount).

According to the Danish studio’s website, the team behind Cocoon is already working on its next game. Although there’s not much information available currently, a job listing by Geometric Interactive reveals that the project is a “3D game” and has Carlsen acting as the game director. Knowing how good the former PlayDead dev is at his craft, Cocoon fans would want to watch out for this one.
