There’s a great deal of good Manhwa to discover and read out there, but the truth is that most of them do not have an official English translation yet. The pressure is so bad that he ends up losing his sense of taste, and he is diagnosed with a severe case of stress disorder.

In order to heal, he decides to go on a small trip to disconnect and refocus. During the trip, he decides to go camping in a remote mountain village, and finds his way to an abandoned cottage in the middle of nowhere. Little did he know that his life would change in such a radical way, since he is about to step into an unknown world filled with fantasy creatures and, of course, many new flavors and dishes to taste. This is an overall good slice-of-life read, with one or two great comedic moments, and a particularly quirky sense of humor.

This is the story of SeoJoon, a pushover who dreams of being the strongest hunter, until on a fateful day he follows a shady ad (please don’t do this at home) on a weird webpage, and ends up downloading the Transcension Academy App, an online learning facility where he will receive lessons from the most famous Transcendent Beings in the universe. From Hercules to Buddah, all the classes in the Transcension Academy App are meant to be taken by worthy candidates, and SeoJoon will prove he is the best of them all.

Accompanied by Mentor (the actual original Mentor from the Freek Mythology, and the origin of the word), he will climb the steps to transcend humanity into godhood, all while trying to avoid the upcoming Second Apocalypse brought about by an evil cult of (particularly stupid) human beings who want to ruin the world. Sadly, there are not too many chapters of this story translated to English, and since there’s no official translation, the Korean version is pretty advanced and almost on pair with the Light Novel, so it will be tricky for newcomers to enjoy. That leaves fan translations as the only option. Be mindful of spoilers, and don’t forget to follow and support the author on their social media.

Having control over the forces of life and death, this MC begins his ascension to power in a rapidly changing world, where trust is the most scarce resource, and the fight for supremacy has dire consequences for those who are not strong enough to stand their ground. It’s an overall good read, full of video game references, and loaded with cool twists and developments.

Will Leon be able to bring some order to this devastated and corrupt world? Or will Earth succumb to darkness like many other worlds have? This is an exciting story, with a cool dark fantasy setting and very cool fancy (though vicious) main character.
