  • New leaks claim Genshin Impact Version 5.0 will buff Cryo and Hydro characters with new Artifact Sets.
  • Natlan’s map expansion will have a strong connection to the narrative compared to other regions.
  • Leaks indicate Natlan’s Pyro Archon will be taller than Furina, using the Tall Female model.

As Genshin Impact moves closer to the release of Natlan, leaks have started to emerge about what players can expect to see in Version 5.0 and the new region of Teyvat. Though it has been known for some time that Genshin Impact was planning to add mounts as an exploration mechanic in Natlan, very few details about the Pyro Nation made their way to the community. Unlike with Fontaine and Sumeru, players know very little about the Natlan cast. Murata, Xbalanque, and Iansan are confirmed characters, but the rest of the line-up remains a mystery.

In Version 4.6, the Sea of Bygone Eras adopted a change in philosophy when it comes to open-world exploration in Genshin Impact. Though the zone is smaller than players are used to, it is packed with content, and each area serves a narrative purpose to the player’s quest of unearthing and witnessing the final fate of Remuria. This change in philosophy will continue for Natlan in Genshin Impact, as its map expansions will have a stronger connection to the narrative when compared to Sumeru and early Fontaine.

More details about Version 4.8 and the upcoming region of Natlan have emerged, as Genshin Impact will use the patch to tease the new mount system.

Genshin Impact Version 5.0 Will Buff Cryo and Hydro Characters

Shared by Plum Team Leaks via Gura on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, new information about Natlan claims that the region’s combat mechanics will elevate Cryo and Hydro teams. Given that Hydro characters in Genshin Impact don’t necessarily need a buff in a post-Fontaine era, this likely concerns older characters with Cryo and Hydro visions that scale with ATK instead of HP, such as Ayaka, Mona, Eula, Ayato, and Shenhe. They will be supported in Version 5.0 with an Artifact Set built around the new combat mechanic.

Version 5.0 will also add more Artifact Sets in Genshin Impact to its Strongbox feature, with the full list being: Deepwood Memories, Gilded Dreams, Desert Pavillion Chronicle, Flower of Paradise Lost, Nymph’s Dream, and Vourukasha’s Glow. The new Artifact Domain will be located in Natlan, which will have a map expansion in Version 5.0 comparable to the size of Sumeru in Version 3.1.

As for its characters, Gura did not have much to say other than make a claim that Natlan’s Pyro Archon would be taller than Furina by roughly the size of Klee’s hat. Given that Furina herself wears a hat, this implies that the Pyro Archon will most likely use the Tall Female model. Though the Pyro Archon’s appearance in Genshin Impact was already leaked, there is a possibility that HoYoverse will go in a different direction given the controversy it sparked. Players will be able to experience Natlan firsthand once it opens its doors in August 2024.
