After plenty of teases, NetherRealm Studios releases the official gameplay trailer for Takeda, the final character of Mortal Kombat 1‘s first Kombat Pass. Nearly a year after it was released, Mortal Kombat 1 has finally reached the end of its Kombat Pass, bringing six additional characters to the main roster through a mix of returning characters like Ermac with guest characters ranging from Homelander, to Omni-Man, and John Cena’s take on Peacemaker.
For many fans, however, the final roster addition was the most tantalizing, bringing back one of the more popular new fighters originally featured in Mortal Kombat X. Takeda Takahashi, the son of the blind swordsman Kenshi, was introduced in MKX as a member of Scorpion’s Shirai Ryu and of Cassie Cage’s unit during the game’s story. For many, what set Takeda apart was his mix of technology with ninja-style abilities, utilziing tools like a light sword and a bladed whip to quickly pressure opponents. NetherRealm has been teasing the arrival of Takeda for the past few weeks, giving small glimpses at the character, but in advance of EVO, the debut gameplay has finally arrived.
