Studio Wildcard has officially released ARK: Survival Ascended for the Xbox Series X|S, though it delayed the game’s PS5 release until early December. The game developer had to delay ARK: Survival Ascended‘s release thrice within a month due to “unexpected issues” during its certification process.
ARK: Survival Ascended didn’t have a smooth launch despite Studio Wildcard releasing it in early access. Many players were disappointed in Studio Wildcard because of the game’s many issues and the delay of its console versions due to significant concerns within them. Since then, the game developer kept players updated on its work on ARK: Survival Ascended‘s console versions, even delaying the game’s Xbox version three times within a month. However, it seems the wait is finally over for gamers who want to play ARK: Survival Ascended on the Xbox X|S.
Studio Wildcard released ARK: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox version on November 21 at 9 AM PST, fulfilling its promise to Xbox gamers a week ago. As of press time, Xbox gamers going into the game can expect to see a set of unique servers with bonus rates that allow them to catch up with their PC counterparts. However, the bonus rates the new servers have won’t remain forever. Since Studio Wildcard didn’t mention when the bonuses would expire, Xbox gamers should take advantage of the bonus rates ARK: Survival Ascended‘s new servers have while they’re still available.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about ARK: Survival Ascended‘s PlayStation 5 version. Studio Wildcard announced on Twitter that it is still working on the game’s certification for the PS5 with Sony due to the issues it encountered at the last minute, like in its Xbox version. As such, gamers wishing to play ARK: Survival Ascended on the PS5 must wait until early December to do so. Studio Wildcard promised to provide updates about its progress on the game’s PS5 version and that it is “working diligently” to bring players “the best cross-platform experience” when playing the game.
It is unknown if ARK: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox release is free from the many issues that plague its PC version; Studio Wildcard previously stated the delay gave it time for a smoother console launch. These issues include crashing, server issues, severe lag, and poor frame rates, even on the game’s lowest graphics settings. Nevertheless, Xbox gamers should be on the lookout for these problems while playing the game online with other players, particularly when they’re cross-platform playing with PC gamers.
