With College Football 25 here, one of the most popular modes is going to be the Dynasty Mode, which has you in charge of your team as a coach, both calling the plays in-game and also constructing your roster in the offseason. This includes recruiting players to your program, which comes with an extensive — and sometimes confusing — system to figure out which players you want to make an offer to.

College Football 25: How To Intercept A Pass
If they time it just right, players can intercept a quarterback’s pass in College Football 25 and turn the momentum in their favor.
Luckily, there are some things that the game shows you in the recruitment process to make it easier, including the Red and Green Diamonds that will appear next to some players’ names. At first, you probably won’t know what these diamonds mean and what the different colors represent, but this guide is here to help you understand just what College Football 25 is trying to tell you.
What Are The Red And Green Diamonds?
Both the Red and Green Diamonds refer to the potential of a player when you are recruiting them. However, each one is trying to tell you a different thing about that recruit.
In order to unlock these diamonds on a player, you will need to fully scout them. When you add them to your
Prospect list
, you can select a player and then cycle over to the Scouting tab. Here, you will need to spend your resources to fully scout them and reveal whether they are a Green or Red Diamond — or exactly what their rating says.
Green Diamonds Explained
When you come across a player with a Green Diamond next to their name, this means that they have the potential to evolve past their current skill level. For instance, if there is a three-star recruit with a Green Diamond, this means they have a good chance of developing into a four- or five-star player at some point.
This is not a guarantee, but the odds are fairly good. If you see a player with this next to their name and want to take the risk, you will want to make sure you give them an offer when they are at this level and aren’t getting a lot of attention from other schools. The fewer offers they have, the more likely they are to choose you.
Red Diamonds Explained
On the other side of the spectrum, Red Diamonds are pretty much the opposite of Green Diamonds. When you see a player with a Red Diamond next to their name, this means they have a good chance of not reaching their promised skill level. So, if you see a four- or five-star recruit, they could likely end up as a three-star level or lower.
As is the case with Green Diamonds, this isn’t necessarily a given, but the odds do pose a risk. Instead of trying to get that elite talent right now, it may be better for your program to take that three-star player with a Green Diamond and let them develop into a superstar with your team.
Recruiting in Dynasty Mode is always a toss-up, and there is never a guarantee that a player will end up how you want them, but these Diamonds are here to show you exactly what risk you are taking with taking a player. You will also need to put in the work yourself to make sure that players become what you need them to be to take your team to the top. It’s a complex, nuanced system that brings the real experience of NCAA coaching to College Football 25.
