There was one detail of the Velvet Room from the first two Persona games that would be good to see again in Persona 6. With the Velvet Room virtually guaranteed to be seen again in Persona 6, it’s a fair aspect of the game to make predictions about. From new designs to what functions it will provide, it will surely be a vital part of the game once more. With that in mind, one aspect of the Velvet Room hasn’t been used in quite some time. In Persona 6, this could be reversed with a few creative decisions.

Whatever is done with Persona 6‘s version of the Velvet Room, its presence will be important. Throughout the series, the Velvet Room has been the main location for players to modify their stock of Personas. In the Velvet Room, players can access the Compendium, where they can register Personas to summon them again later for a fee. It is also where players will be able to fuse two or more Personas in order to create a new one. Since fusion is key to getting a lot of powerful Personas, players will become very familiar with the Velvet Room in every main series Persona game.

Persona 6’s Velvet Room Could Have a Bigger Group of Inhabitants

Persona’s Velvet Room is Home to Igor and His Assistants

The most famous inhabitant of the Velvet Room is easily recurring Persona character Igor, who acts as its host. In addition, in most games he also has an attendant, such as Elizabeth in Persona 3 or Margaret in Persona 4. These attendants typically assist with the features of the Velvet Room in some way, such as Margaret handling the Compendium or Caroline and Justine assisting in Persona 5‘s fusion process. This is a dynamic that players of more recent P ersona games will have gotten used to. While that has become the norm, the Velvet Room was not always set up in this way.

Past Persona Games Have Shown Other Velvet Room Inhabitants

While it is now primarily the home of Igor and his assistants, more characters could appear in Persona‘s Velvet Room. Persona 2 offers an excellent example, with Nameless, Belladonna, and the Demon Painter also taking residence in the room. However, the Demon Painter was the only one who played a useful role, with Belladonna and Nameless primarily focused on honing their own crafts. Even so, their presence alone brings up several questions about the Velvet Room, which has otherwise always acted as something of a headquarters for Persona protagonists. Perhaps Persona 6 could bring up those questions again with its Velvet Room.

More People in the Velvet Room Could Provide More Possibilities

More denizens of the Velvet Room in Persona 6 would bring about new possibilities. Among them would be more Velvet Room Social Links in Persona 6. The unusual and possibly otherworldly characters in the Velvet Room could offer some unique Social Link arcs outside the series’ norm. These characters could also have their own ways to help the player during their trips to the Velvet Room as well. For example, some inhabitants could be able to create skill cards or craft new weapons for the party. More important interactions in the Velvet Room could make it a livelier place in Persona 6.

The Velvet Room is always going to be important, which is why Persona 6 needs to be wise with its incarnation. It will be an important feature to focus on for Persona 6, so putting a new twist on a past version of the room could work out well. Whether it’s through bringing back older figures like Belladonna and Nameless or introducing new ones, a wider cast in the Velvet Room could be to Persona 6‘s benefit. Persona 6‘s Velvet Room could have more to offer than usual with more inhabitants.
