Jujutsu Kaisen has exploded in popularity, and fans have shown their love for the anime in various ways. These great memes will make any fan laugh.
The sheer number of cursed techniques that have already been shown in the anime is extremely impressive. From fleeting bursts of cursed energy to the impressive domain expansion technique — there are simply too many abilities to recount. However, some JJK abilities are the most awe-inspiring of the lot in the series. These moves show first-hand just how powerful a Jujutsu Sorcerer can be if they decide to take things seriously.
Updated on October 29, 2024 by Ritwik Mitra: Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga has finally ended after releasing some of the most controversial and viral chapters over the course of its celebrated run. Regardless of what fans feel about the ending, there’s no denying that the many JJK powers they’ve witnessed are in a class of their own and something that fans can’t get enough of. Anime fans aren’t aware of the new powers that have been introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen, but they won’t mind as long since they’ve already been treated to some visual explosions of powers as jujutsu sorcerers and their enemies show off their impressive powers time and time again.
28 Inverse
Jiro Awasaka
- Technique Debut: Episode 35 (Summon)
The best JJK powers are the ones that are are creative as they come, allowing users to trick their enemies and catch them by surprise to inflict a ton of damage in no time. Such is the case with Inverse, a cursed technique that could’ve made for a creative battle if it was used by a smarter user. Unfortunately, Jiro Awasaka was far from a competent fighter who failed to give both Yuji and Megumi a tough time.
Inverse switches the power level of attacks, meaning that strong punches will feel like a tickle while weak flicks can cause catastrophic damage. The limits of this power mean that some level of impact is required to reap results, otherwise the user can just touch their enemy and cause them to smash into a pulp with minimal effort.
27 Straw Doll Technique
Nobara Kugisaki
- Technique Debut: Episode 3 (Girl of Steel)
Given the many powerful abilities in JJK that fans have seen, it’s easy to see why some people may write off the Straw Doll Technique as relatively weaker. However, it’s the creative ways in which Nobara uses this power that makes her such a force to be reckoned with. Her no-nonsense attitude and trickery make her one of the most entertaining people in the trio of newcomers to Tokyo Jujutsu High.
It’s a shame that Mahito’s violent attack has left her on the sidelines, but fans are still hopeful that one of their favorite characters will make a comeback, even if the current arc features a fight against a jujutsu sorcerer who is so nightmarishly powerful that Nobara will need a lot of help to make a dent against Sukuna’s powers. Using her Straw Doll Technique in tandem with other powers against Sukuna can certainly make for a spectacular end to this amazing battle.
26 Puppet Manipulation
Kokichi Muta
- Technique Debut: Episode 14 (Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 0)
Kokichi Muta is a character fans will miss, with this sickly human striving to attain a healthy body by any means necessary. The fact that he formed a Binding Vow with Mahito and his lackeys to achieve this goal was pretty alarming, but it turned out that Kokichi was a heroic figure all along and tried his hardest to use his Puppet Manipulation ability and overpower the enemy. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful, and he fell to the combined might of Mahito and Kenjaku.

Jujutsu Kaisen: 8 Fights That Are Better In The Anime
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is home to some incredible battles, but some of them were arguably done better in the anime.
Manipulating puppets may not seem like the most powerful JJK technique around, but it’s clear to see that anyone who strives to master this ability can dish out a ton of damage when things align perfectly. A lot of preparation is required to form a puppet that’s as strong as can be, and Kokichi certainly showed that he could stand against the toughest jujutsu sorcerers around, even if he didn’t manage to come out alive after a particularly scathing encounter.
25 Disaster Tides
Dagon
- Technique Debut: Episode 7 (Assault)
Out of all the antagonists shown in the series, there’s no denying that Dagon has witnessed the least amount of screen time. So, it was nice to see him shine in the Shibuya Incident arc, where fans got to witness his innate technique, Disaster Tides. Manipulating water may not seem like the strongest technique around, only for Dagon to surprise viewers with the sheer force and volume of water he can mold as per his requirements.
This incredible control over his cursed technique makes Disaster Tides a powerful technique that jujutsu sorcerers must be ready for at all times. The fact that he can shoot out this water with so much speed that certain people get knocked out is a testament to the immense power of this JJK power.
24 Ice Formation
Uraume
- Technique Debut: Episode 46 (Transformation, Part 2)
Given the sheer number of creative JJK powers fans can check out in Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s easy to see why a cursed technique that summons ice may not be the most interesting technique to witness in combat. Thankfully, Uraume’s character is compelling enough for this simple power to look amazing in her hands.
Freezing a massive area and nullifying the threat of certain foes can be a huge help in a series like Jujutsu Kaisen where certain cursed techniques can cause immense damage in no time. These cryogenic powers are amazing in Uraume’s hands, making it clear why she’s hailed as one of the strongest jujutsu sorcerers in the series.
23
22 Ratio
Kento Nanami
- Technique Debut: Episode 9 (Young Fish and Reverse Punishment)
Kento Nanami is easily one of the more unique characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. He seems like a world-weary sorcerer who has seen it all, with his calm and rational approach in combat being one of his best traits.
Given his calculating mindset, it’s easy to see why he gets to use a complicated Ratio technique. By dividing his enemies into ten parts and hitting the 7:3 ratio point, Kento can turn this area into a weak point and hit it for massive damage.
21 Boogie Woogie
Aoi Todo
- Technique Debut: Episode 15 (Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 1)
While Boogie Woogie might not be the most powerful technique on this list in the slightest, it’s how Aoi Todo uses it that makes it such a formidable Jujutsu ability. With a simple clap of his hands, Todo can switch his position with that of any other person or object with Cursed Energy.

Jujutsu Kaisen has an interesting cast of villains that raise the stakes for the anime’s protagonists.
The utility of this move in a fight is truly unmatched. Todo can easily bamboozle opponents with this move and carry out clever moves to gain a much-needed advantage in battle. It helps that his eccentric personality and monstrous strength make what should be a pretty basic Cursed Technique into one of the best parts of the show.
20 Projection Sorcery
Naobito Zenin, Naoya Zenin
- Technique Debut: Episode 38 (Fluctuations)
One of the coolest techniques displayed during the Shibuya Incident was the powers of one of the members of the Zenin family. Despite being disposed of in record time, Naobito Zenin wowed fans with an ability that animation nerds would go gaga over.
His innate Projection Sorcery ability lets him trap enemies in a state where they must adhere to the 24 FPS rule. Failing to do so will leave them stuck in place, making it easy for the sorcerer to dispose of these enemies without breaking a sweat.
19 Construction
Mai Zenin, Yorozu
- Technique Debut: Episode 17 (Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event – Team Battle, Part 3)
The potential for Construction is immense, with the idea of forming things out of cursed energy being a game-changer in the hands of anyone with limitless powers. However, as things stand, the only person who has used this ability in the series is Mai Zenin, who has to cultivate a day’s worth of Cursed Energy to fashion one solitary bullet out of thin air.
A new sorcerer by the name of Yorozu is poised to show off this ability during the Culling Game arc. Fans can’t wait to see the true extent of this cursed technique’s potential in the anime.
18 Disaster Plants
Hanami
- Technique Debut: Episode 7 (Assault)
Speaking of Hanami, one can’t fail to mention his powerful Cursed Ability as well. The fact that he can infuse plants with Cursed Energy and use them for his nefarious purposes should be commended.

Along with this, he can even suck out the life energy of these plants to heal himself. All in all, Disaster Plants is a powerful technique that more people can’t wait to see used even further in the anime. The fight against Todo and Itadori was pretty entertaining in its own right, even if a single attack from Gojo was all it took for this Cursed Spirit to realize that they were completely out of their depth here.
17 Brain Transplant
Kenjaku
- Technique Debut: Episode 33 (The Shibuya Incident – Gate Open)
The sight of Kenjaku’s brain smiling at Gojo in the body of his once-dear friend is one of the most iconic visuals in Jujutsu Kaisen, a series that most people assume is about awe-inspiring battles and the like. Not a lot is seen about this Brain Transplant technique in the anime, but manga fans are well aware of Kenjaku’s impact on the series as a whole. The man went so far as to put his mind in Yuji’s mom to make him the perfect vessel for Sukuna to inhabit.
The craziest application of the Brain Transplant technique has occurred recently in the manga, with Yuta transplanting his brain into Gojo’s body to make Sukuna’s life harder once again. It’s one of the craziest uses of this technique and shows just how incredible the Brain Transplant technique is to behold, making it one of the best abilities in JJK by a country mile.
16 Ten Shadows
Megumi Fushiguro
- Technique Debut: Episode 1 (Ryomen Sukuna)
Megumi is poised to become one of the most unique and engaging characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. His Ten Shadows power might be weak right now, but its sheer potential is limitless. It’s going to take Megumi quite some time to master this technique, but there’s no denying that watching him use the Ten Shadows technique at its maximum potential is going to be an absolute blast.
If Megumi manages to hone his ability to a T, there’s no telling what this man will be capable of. However, he has been on the back foot in most of his battles, which does take away a bit from the power of his technique. Thankfully, the Shibuya Incident showed just how much potential this technique has, with the toughest monster Megumi has ever summoned giving someone as powerful as Sukuna a run for his money.
15 Black Flash
Yuta Okkotsu, Kento Nanami, Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Mahito, Aoi Todo, Sukuna
- Technique Debut: Episode 19 (Black Flash)
After gaining the friendship of Aoi Todo, Yuji practiced his taijutsu to master a powerful Cursed Technique that could decimate enemies. This technique was aptly labeled the Black Flash.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Satoru Gojo is one of the strongest sorcerers in the series, and as such, he only has a small group of friends whom he trusts.
Watching him use and perfect this move in a fight against Hanami was an absolute treat to witness. Landing consecutive Black Flashes had quite a massive impact on the Special Grade Curse, who was left reeling after this barrage of attacks. With enough practice, Itadori can wipe out the toughest enemies around with a technique that perfectly complements his strength.
14 Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue
Satoru Gojo
- Technique Debut: Episode 20 (Nonstandard)
Expect to see Gojo’s name prop up a lot in this list. After all, he is the most powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer in the show for a reason. His Limitless ability gives him access to several powerful moves that can bolster his speed and offense.
Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue is one such move that allows Gojo to travel at breakneck speeds by bringing negative distance into reality. It can also obliterate any enemy who might be targeted by such a powerful move as well.
13 Dismantle
Ryomen Sukuna
- Technique Debut: Episode 4 (Fearsome Womb)
Ryomen Sukuna is easily one of the most interesting characters in the entire series. The fact that he used to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer makes him an even more engaging character.
His ability, Dismantle, lets him do exactly what is stated in the name. Lesser enemies will be felled instantly by this damaging move, while tougher opponents will be extremely inconvenienced.
12 Cursed Technique Reversal: Red
Satoru Gojo
- Technique Debut: Episode 7 (Assault)
Reversed Cursed Techniques are another type of Jujutsu ability that can cause widespread destruction if harnessed correctly. This is precisely what Gojo manages to achieve with his Reversed Limitless: Red technique.

11 Idle Transfiguration
Mahito
- Technique Debut: Episode 8 (Boring)
Mahito is one of the most fascinating antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen. His psychotic personality makes him one of the most unpredictable characters in the show by a country mile.
The way he manipulates beings with a single touch makes him one of the most daunting enemies in the show. Every Jujutsu Sorcerer who gets into a battle with this foe needs to stay wary at all times, lest they turn into a squirming monster with no hope of surviving.
10 Star Rage
Yuki Tsukumo
- Technique Debut: Chapter 205 (Stars and Oil)
It’s only a given that any character who’s served as a mentor to Todo would be one of the most powerful characters in the series, and Yuki Tsukumo certainly doesn’t disappoint in his regard. This character does a great job of endearing herself to fans with her magnetic personality, and any fan who is already enamored by her has yet to see a glimpse of her true strength in battle.
Star Rage is one of the more unique Cursed Techniques that she whips out in battle, letting her add virtual mass to both herself and her shikigami, Garuda. Not only does this let her bolster the power of her attacks, but the sheer level of mass she can add to her own body is so high that her own body can turn into a black hole as well.
9 Cursed Speech
Toge Inumaki
- Technique Debut: Episode 8 (Boring)
Inumaki is easily one of the most fascinating characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. The fact that he can only use a limited vocabulary to convey his points highlights the fact that his Cursed Technique is incredibly powerful — perhaps more than he can control himself.
