Path of Exile 2 is an action RPG released into early access, emphasizing meaningful combat that’s drawn heavy comparisons to games like Dark Souls. Combined with near limitless possibilities in ways to build a character, players have the freedom to challenge the world of Wraeclast in the way they best see fit.
Over the course of a player’s journey through Path of Exile 2, they’ll need to complete a variety of quests to progress the game’s main story, split across three acts currently available in early access. Along the way, optional quests are offered to provide players with free items and permanent character upgrades, making their pursuit of the seed of corruption a little bit easier.

All Quests and Acts in Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 currently features 23 quests and three acts, spread between 13 main quests and 10 optional quests. Mains quests are mandatory to progress through the game and access new zones and acts, while optional quests can be skipped, though often grants players with unique rewards such as permanent character stat upgrades or extra points for their passive skill tree. Despite the seemingly few number of quests, completing all three acts can take a surprising amount of time. The full list of quests is below.

While the current early access version of Path of Exile 2 features three acts, the full game is expected to double this number and add three more acts for a total of six. To accommodate the three currently missing acts and provide a smoother transition for players into the endgame, the game transitions into Cruel difficulty after completing Act Three. Functioning similar to a New Game+ system, players progress through the acts a second time with higher difficulty enemies while retaining all the items and stats they’ve accrued over their playthrough. While the quest objectives in Cruel difficulty are identical to their normal difficulty counterparts, some rewards are altered, offering higher level versions of items or different base types of the same reward.
