Unless you live under a rock with a bag on your head and your fingers in your ears (which kind of sounds heavenly at this point, if I’m being honest), you’ve probably seen or heard of the Rocco smart fridge, a retro-looking wine cooler/minifridge that keeps a catalog of its contents, so you can know what’s inside no matter where you are.

Former WIRED contributor Andrew Watman reviewed it for us in 2024, giving it a solid 7 out of 10 and confirming that it is every bit the statement piece it’s designed to be. I own one as well, and I love both its vintage-inspired charm and that I can “see” what’s inside without having to look in it.

The Rocco’s marquee feature, other than it coming in fun colors—I can report several new ones are coming very soon—is its smart app. It allows you to see the fridge contents as scanned by the fridge itself, and control the lights and temperature from afar.

When Watman tested it, he was impressed by the library of drinks the fridge recognized, from an obscure OoMee algae-infused beverage to canned Yaté yerba mate. In my own fridge, I was surprised to see the Rocco could even recognize individual flavors of Kirkland Signature sparkling water.

Because the Rocco is on the second floor of my house, away from my main fridge, I also didn’t anticipate how convenient it would be to see what was in the fridge at all times—I knew exactly what to bring upstairs to stock it, and didn’t have to make multiple trips. It’s also helpful to be able to see inside the fridge while I’m at the store, so I know what I might need to restock.

This current sale isn’t the best I’ve seen from Rocco, but it’s not bad, with $200 off Graphite, Cream, Beige, and Green colors. As a bonus, if you buy during the sale, you’ll get a free case of Laurel’s Lattes to put in your fridge, which appears to be some kind of gut-friendly dairy coffee beverage. (No doubt recognizable by the Rocco’s scanner.)
