During your exploration of the eastern end of Nalcott in Once Human, you may have stumbled across a convenience store that’s clearly seen some cult activity. Investigating the area kicks off Lost In Madness, a low-level quest that sends players on a cross-island scavenger hunt using a Cultist’s Treasure Map.

Lost In Madness is pretty confusing compared to other quests or exploration tasks in Once Human. The lack of quest markers is an issue, and while there’s a map provided for players as part of the quest, it’s not very helpful either. Here’s a complete guide on everything you need to do for the Lost In Madness quest.

How To Start The Lost In Madness Quest In Once Human

To begin this side quest, the first thing you have to do is visit a small grocery store called BNMart in the Coastside Plaza area in the eastern end of the Dayton Wetlands region. Interact with the red candle in the corner of the store, and your vision will warp for a moment. Then, a chest will appear in front of you. Loot it, and you’ll find the Cultist’s Treasure map, which is needed for the rest of the side quest.

Cultist’s Treasure Map Location

If you view the Cultist’s Treasure Map in your inventory, you’ll find that the drawing there isn’t very helpful. However, the quest will point you to Chalk Peak, a level 32 region west of the Dayton Wetlands. It’s going to be a long trip going to Chalk Peak, so you may want to consider building a car in Once Human so you can have a smoother time driving.

The location you’re looking for is the Believer Colony, which is directly west of Tall Grass Inn. It’s a small Vulture camp along the road with three buildings in it. Once you get here, clear the camp and look for the aptly-named Cultist’s Treasure Chest. The location of this chest may change from one player to another, but for us, we found it on the second floor west-most one.

The contents of this chest may also differ from player to player. Opening it yields some account and battle pass EXP, 100 Energy Links, Stellar Planula, and a level 1 Eclipse Cortex. The latter is particularly interesting — it’s one of the main ways of getting Starchrom in Once Human. Starchrom is the main currency used for making wishes and buying blueprints in Wish Machines.
