Call of Duty Releases New MW3 and Warzone Updates for April 23

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone receive new updates that fix bugs and introduce minor improvements along with another Ranked Play change.

Modern Warfare 3 will add two new 6v6 maps in Grime and Checkpoint. Grime is a medium-sized map that takes place at an abandoned dock in London (although it’s not a remake of WW2‘s London Docks) and Checkpoint is another medium-sized map based on Rebirth Island’s Stronghold POI. MW3‘s new modes include Minefield, which sees eliminated players drop a Proximity Mine upon death, and the return of Escort, which sees teams take turns escorting a robot across the map. MW3 will also receive the Enhanced Vision Goggles field upgrade, EMD Mine tactical equipment, and the Arcade playlist that features powerups like unlimited grenades and special weapon pickups like the Minigun.

New Content In Call of Duty’s Season 3 Reloaded Update

  • MW3 receives two 6v6 maps, two modes, a field upgrade, a tactical equipment, the Arcade playlist, Zombies content, and more
  • Warzone receives the Loaded Resurgence playlist, Specialist perk package, Weapon Trade Stations, and more
  • Warzone Mobile receives the Golden Week event and later on gets the High Voltage LTM and more

MW3‘s Zombies mode will receive a substantial update as well that includes a story mission with a new Dark Aether Rift, where players will face hordes of enemies plus a new Disciple variant. Zombies will also add three new schematics in the Dead Wire Detonators, Golden Mask Filter, and Sergeant’s Beret, as well as the new Rainmaker Warlord. Recently, Treyarch confirmed that it’s done working on MW3‘s Zombies, so it’s unclear whether the mode will receive additional significant updates in the future.

Warzone will add the Heavy Armor public event that increases the number of plates users can equip, the Loaded Resurgence playlist that allows users to bring in their own loadouts, and variable weather conditions for Rebirth Island. And, on Rebirth Island only, users will see the Utility Box field upgrade that supplies both ammo and armor, the return of Weapon Trade Stations and the Specialist perk package, and the new Foresight killstreak that shows the location of all future gas circles.

Warzone Mobile players will be able to celebrate Japan’s Golden Week with new content inspired by Japanese folklore. After this event concludes, Warzone Mobile will release its mid-season update that adds the High Voltage LTM for Rebirth Island and Viking Runes for Verdansk that offer rewards.
