  • Dead Rising series sales surge due to discounts and upcoming Deluxe Remaster.
  • Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster to feature 4K resolution, improved controls, and save system.
  • Past Dead Rising games see increased sales as fans prepare for the Deluxe Remaster release.

The Dead Rising series is enjoying a huge surge in sales lately, probably thanks to a wave of big discounts and news of the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Capcom’s campy zombie franchise was recently resurrected in a big way with the announcement of a current-gen update of the original Dead Rising earlier this year. In the wake of this news, more details have surfaced about how Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will improve upon Frank West’s infamous battle across the zombie-infested stores and hallways of Willamette Parkview Mall in search of the scoop of a lifetime.

Last week’s Capcom Next livestream gave fans their first official look at Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster in action, with Frank fending off the undead hordes with anything not nailed to the floor in full 4K resolution and improvements to the original’s control scheme and save system. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will rise from the grave in November, but in the meantime, the previous entries in the series are being offered up at discount prices on Xbox’s online store.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Shouldn’t Arrive Empty-Handed

2006’s Dead Rising will get the remaster treatment in 2024, but Capcom shouldn’t miss the chance to do one thing in conjunction with it.

This in turn might have led to a massive spike in sales for the Dead Rising series over the past few days, as reported by Pure Xbox. Multiple Dead Rising titles have started to pop up on the Top Paid Xbox charts over the weekend. Among these games, Dead Rising 3: Apocalypse Edition (which is currently on sale at an 80% discount) is seemingly the most popular, followed by Dead Rising 4 (itself being offered at 85% off). Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off The Record round out the list.

Dead Rising Discounts Are Leading To A Massive Sales Boost

The first two Dead Rising entries were hits for Capcom, and 2013’s Dead Rising 3 served as a launch title for the Xbox One console. However, 2016’s Dead Rising 4 was met with a more mixed reception and poor sales – which may have played a role in Capcom canceling the planned Dead Rising 5 and shelving the franchise for several years. This will finally change when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster launches this fall, fresh off Capcom’s recent zombie-related success with Resident Evil.

The impending release of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster might be drawing gamers’ attention back to the original Dead Rising and its various sequels, as evidenced by the increased sales of these titles over the past week. While the upcoming remaster has generated some controversy over Frank West’s new voice actor and the PC version’s DRM, Capcom’s zombie-busting series could be making a comeback befitting a franchise about surviving an assault of the living dead – and curious gamers can currently check out past entries at great discounts.
