Starcats are cute, paracausal creatures that players can find scattered all over the Dreaming City and the new arenas added to Destiny 2 in Season of the Wish. They’re a bit tricky to find, and some are harder to reach than others. Collecting all the cats isn’t just some trivial matter, however, as there are a couple of rewards tied to finding all of them.

Destiny 2 Season of the Wish’s crossover with The Witcher includes a funny reference to The Witcher 3’s famous meme of Geralt in the bathtub.

There are 14 Starcats in total, and Destiny 2 players will need to get them all if they want to unlock the Wishbearer title and the Wyrmguard Ghost Shell.

This guide includes all Starcat locations in Season of the Wish, but as of the time of writing, not all of the cats are accessible yet. When they do appear, this guide will be updated to include their locations as well.

Starcat #1 Location: The Blind Well

Starcat in the Blind Well in Destiny 2

One of the first Starcats players are likely to encounter is hiding in the Dreaming City — particularly inside the Blind Well’s massive cave. Enter the Blind Well through its normal entrance or teleport directly to it via the map on the Director screen. Then, head to the giant door at the back of the cave, the one with the white, glowing outline near where the activity’s last boss usually spawns. The cat should be sitting right in front of the door. Hold the interact button to collect it.

Players don’t need to beat a Blind Well run to get the cat; they can even grab it while the event occurs. Be careful, however, as the Guardians without the Touch of the Sky buff will continuously take damage during the event.

Starcat #2 Location: The Garden of Plenty

The Garden of Plenty is one of the possible locations found within the Riven’s Lair activity. Every time players load into the activity, they’ll get a random map, two pathway areas, and a boss room. If the random map isn’t the Garden of Plenty, then players will have to run the activity again.

To circumvent the randomness, an alternative way to get the right map is to use a character that hasn’t started the season yet and play through the Polysemy quest, one of the intro missions to Season of the Wish.

After arriving at the Garden of Plenty, clear out all the enemies and face the big pavilion leading to the teleporter. Look left, then head towards the rocks by the cliffside. The Starcat will be sitting on a rocky ledge.

Starcats will give players a random piece of Dreaming City loot, including the reprised versions of the weapons added in Season of the Wish. Collecting all of them is needed to finish the Familiar Felines triumph, which is required for the Wishbearer title.

Starcat #3 Location: Chamber of Starlight

This Week 2 Starcat can be found inside the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector, which can be found in the ravine under the bridge connecting the Divalian Mists and Rheasilvia. To get the Starcat, go to the Lost Sector’s chest room and go to the round platform to the right. The cat should be standing on the white table in the middle.

Starcat #4 Location: Aphelion’s Rest

Next, players should go to the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector on the bottom-right side of The Strand. The entrance is below the big gazebo where Petra can be found. Clear out all enemies to reach the chest room, and jump up the ledge behind the chest to find a tombstone-shaped marker. The cat can be found sitting inside the broken basin.

Starcat #5 Location: Bay of Drowned Wishes

This Lost Sector is found right behind the Dreaming City’s main fast travel point in the Divalian Mists. After loading in, turn around to find a small cave entrance in one of the rocky mounds. Enter the Lost Sector, fight through the waves of Scorn, and get to the chest room. The Starcat is sitting on the outcrop to the right of the chest.

Starcat #6 Location: Temple of the Queen’s Wrath

This Starcat location is a little different from the others that came before it. Players must play through the Tautology seasonal quest in order to find it. Once players reach the large hall with the braziers and hanging banners, head into the corridor on the right past the pillars. Then, turn right again to find a circle-shaped dead end. The Starcat is behind the large pillar.

Players who missed the cat in this quest can try again using a different character or play Riven’s Lair until they get the same map tile. It’s unclear if the Starcat will spawn in the same location in The Coil.

Starcat #7 Location: Gnashing Chamber

The seventh Starcat in this series is in the Gnashing Chamber, one of the possible combat arenas players will encounter in The Coil. This map resembles the Vault encounter from the Last Wish raid, albeit without the confusing penumbra and antumbra mechanic. To get to the Gnashing Chamber, players must keep looping in The Coil until they arrive at the map.

The cat is sitting on another table covered by a white cloth in the middle of the room. Players don’t have to clear the combat encounter to interact with the Starcat.

Starcat #8 Location: Reaver’s Orison

The eighth Starcat in Destiny 2's Reavere's Orison arena

The fourth week of Season of the Wish added one more Starcat to the game. You can find it in the Reaver’s Orison map, an arena in The Coil where you need to fight waves of Vex and a Taken Ogre boss. Upon spawning in, head to the right of the arena and go to the base of the dead tree. The Starcat is tucked right between a couple of roots.

Players who are progressing through the seasonal quest line are guaranteed to arrive at Reaver’s Orison during the Apophasis mission, which is the 27th step of the Season of the Wish quest.

Starcat #9: Spine of Keres

This cat is inside the big tower in the Spine of Keres, which is right next to the Divalian Mists in the Dreaming City. From the fast travel point, head past the Corsair Camp and navigate the cliffside past the alcove to reach the Spine. After reaching the entrance, enter the tower and look for the Techeun on the upper floor. The Starcat is sitting right next to her.

Starcat #10: Harbinger’s Seclude

Start by going to the Harbinger’s Seclude, a temple in the north of the Dreaming City’s Rheasilvia region. Go inside, then proceed to the large hall filled with enemies. On the very far side of it is an entrance to an open-air hall with a large elevator right below the doorway. Activate the elevator (or drop down) and explore the sublevel. You’ll eventually come across a round chamber with small, adjoining rooms containing altars. You can find the Starcat sitting behind one of them.

Starcat #11: The Confluence

After getting Starcat #10, head back to the round chamber, then face the big Taken Blight by the cliff. There’s a path underneath it that leads to a portal. Enter the portal, then go down the hall toward the big statue to enter The Confluence. Head past the statue, and after entering the adjacent room, go through the door on the left. On the far end of this large room is the entrance to the Shattered Throne dungeon. The Starcat is right in front of it.

Starcat #12: Gardens of Esila

From the previous Starcat, head back to the room before it, then turn left to the hall with the big tree. Keep following the hallway, and you’ll eventually reach a portal that leads back to the Dreaming City. You’ll be greeted by a group of Taken once you emerge. Deal with them however you wish, then head to the location indicated on the map above. The Starcat is under a bridge.
