Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Shadow Play Walkthrough

Just like with every other Disney and/or Pixar character in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Mulan has her own set of friendship quests that you can do as you level her up. Like many characters, there is a lengthy series of requirements that you must meet before you can do Mulan’s second quest. To unlock The Shadow Play, Mulan must be at least Level Four and you will also need to have completed the quest to bring Minnie Mouse back to Dreamlight Valley.

Unlike Mulan’s first friendship quest, The Shadow Play is fairly short and straight forward. In fact, if you already have most of the materials, this quest doesn’t take long at all. Here is how to complete The Shadow Play in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Gather Materials

Before the Shadow Theater can return, you will need to gather some supplies. First, you will need to obtain six Hardwood and twelve Softwood. In addition to that, you must craft two Tinkering Parts and five Ropes. Both of these can be crafted with the following material.

Rope

• Eight Fiber (40 total for quest)

Tinkering Parts

• Two Iron Ingots (makes three Tinkering Parts minimum)

In addition to the supplies, you will need to check in with Minnie before you can progress the quest any further. She is eager to help bring the Shadow Theater back, and says that she needs time to make the puppets. To progress this quest, you will need to have all of these items in your inventory. After you have all of the materials mentioned above, bring them all to Mulan.

Lighting Issues

According to Mulan, Mushu wants to help with lighting but has run into an issue. The lantern light doesn’t stay lit, which makes it difficult to run any kind of shadow play. Naturally, whenever there is a magical mystery in Dreamlight Valley the first thing to do is to go ask Merlin.

While he doesn’t have a spell for everlasting fire, he does suggest making a Draconic Garnet. You can make this magical gem by obtaining the following items.

Craft the Empty Draconic Garnet, bring it to Mushu, and then give the finished product to Mulan. She will then give you the Shadow Theater. While she does recommend that you wait until evening to place it, that is entirely optional. Place the Shadow Theater, take a picture, and then talk to Mulan one last time to complete this quest.
