A Lightning attack is a magickal attack that can significantly damage many characters. When a lightning attack is aimed at the player’s party, the energy cannot be contained and the attack may jump from character to character damaging them in turn. If this is a particular concern, then armor designed to counter lightning damage is the way forward.

Looking to protect yourself from magic in Dragon’s Dogma 2? These are the best armor pieces for the job.

Also, something to look out for when considering the best armor options against lightning damage is its resistance to the Drenched condition. This is gained by being submerged in water or covered in it by an enemy. Being drenched will increase the power of lightning attacks and, therefore, this list will rank armor found in Dragon’s Dogma 2 by its elemental and debilitation resistance to lightning attacks and the drenched condition.

7 Ring of Desiccation

The Cheapest and Easiest Form of Protection

Ring of desiccation

  • Effect: Completely Prevents The Wearer’s Drenched Value From Accumulating
  • Available Vocations: All

Equippable by all vocations, this ring is a player’s best bet at early and cheap protection against the drenched condition. Although this will not stop incoming lightning damage or the condition itself materializing, it will prevent the condition from getting worse and, for just 10,000 gold it is a satisfactory piece of armor.

It is purchasable from Bakbattahl in Bodas’s Armory and as a drop from a Saurian enemy. Found in such places as Vermund and the Harve Village, the ring has a very low 1% drop chance so players may wish to just purchase it.
