With numerous iconic legendary Pokemon returning in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet thanks to the additions in the Indigo Disk DLC, some players are keenly aware that these are often the toughest Pokemon to capture. With their generally low capture rates, it can take seemingly ages to get any given legendary in a Poke Ball, but a few legendaries aren’t quite as tricky as the rest of the group.
Most of the legendary Pokemon in the DLC are still just as tricky to capture as their name would suggest, but thankfully a few aren’t quite as difficult. Between Poke Balls that work better on certain types and legendaries that are simply easier to find, ignoring the use of the Master Ball, even with the sizeable list of catchable legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet, five of those available Pokemon are far easier to catch than the rest.
Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet: How to Get Mochi and What It’s For
Mochi is a new type of item introduced in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Teal Mask DLC, and they function the same as vitamins and feathers.
5 Kyogre
The Catchability Of Water Types
- Capture Rate: 3
- Type: Water
- Level: 70
- Location: Gracia Stones
As perhaps the strongest of all pure Water types, Kyogre comes across just as imposing as its giant size would suggest, and battles against this bulky whale are definitely trickier than most. While Kyogre won’t be caught without a fight, there’s one small factor that makes it definitely easier; the Net Ball.
Kyogre may have a capture rate of a tremendously low three, but with the Net Ball, the chance of actually capturing this aquatic beast jumps way up. Since the Net Ball boosts the capture odds of any Bug and Water type Pokemon, it’s very well the perfect Poke Ball for capturing Kyogre in a timely manner.
4 Suicune
The Role Of The Net Ball
- Capture Rate: 3
- Type: Water
- Level: 70
- Location: Casseroya Lake
Along with Kyogre, Suicune follows suit as a fellow Water Type when using the Net Ball to capture the Aurora Pokemon. With an equally low capture rate, Suicune is just as tough to capture normally, though the Net Ball makes an exception.
Unlike Kyogre, however, Suicune’s special location in Scarlet and Violet is pretty obvious to players even vaguely familiar with the Paldea region, residing within Casseroya Lake, giving it a convenient spot nearby a fly location. While Suicune requires Group BBQs to unlock, actually capturing this formerly roaming Pokemon should be fairly easy.
Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet: How to Evolve Feebas into Milotic
Thanks to The Teal Mask, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainers can catch Feebas and Milotic, two rather popular Water-type Pokemon.
3 Zapdos
An Early Location
- Capture Rate: 3
- Type: Electric/Flying
- Level: 70
- Location: Poco Path Lighthouse
There may be no special Poke Balls that expedite capturing one of the original legendary Pokemon and one of the iconic legendary birds, but finding Zapdos for the capture is truly nothing compared to the roaming challenges of previous games. Far from its home at the Kanto Power Plant, Zapdos has now taken up roost in a location every Scarlet and Violet player sees within minutes of playing the game; the Poco Path Lighthouse.
An integral spot and initial starting point for the ongoing plots in the Generation Nine games, the Lighthouse is a location the player constantly returns to for various reasons, making it hard to miss based on Snackworth’s story.
2 Solgaleo
An Iconic Location
- Capture Rate: 3
- Type: Psychic/Steel
- Level: 70
- Location: Pokemon League
Like Zapdos, it is practically impossible for players to miss where the Beast that Devours the Sun, Solgaleo, is hiding in the Paldea region. As opposed to a location near the sky, or an otherworldly location such as near Area Zero, Solgaleo is found almost comically on top of the Pokemon League, smack in the middle of the court where the player had fought Geeta long before starting the Indigo Disk DLC.
While Solgaleo doesn’t offer any special bonuses for its capture, like Water types or Bug types with the Net Ball, it is still possible to capture this Legendary in Quick Balls or even the antithetical Dusk Ball at night. Since finding Solgaleo is so straightforward, the actual battle for capture isn’t too much of a wait. The Sun Emissary also requires a Group BBQ to unlock, but beyond that, actually finding the legendary is as easy as can be.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How To Unlock All Special Coaches (Indigo Disk)
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC’s Special Coaches can help players get a variety of rewards and Pokemon. Here’s how to unlock them.
1 Kubfu
Right Next To The Fly Spot
- Capture Rate: 3
- Type: Fighting
- Level: 30
- Location: Fury Falls
Perhaps one of the most sought-after legendary Pokemon for competitive battling, Kubfu is certainly the easiest Pokemon to find and capture thanks to the Indigo Disk DLC. While the capture rate for this tiny legend is still a horrifically low three, there is no legendary Pokemon to find besides the Raidon given to players at the start of the game.
After unlocking Kubfu from Snackworth, all the player has to do is fly to the Fury Falls fly spot and turn slightly. Kubfu is directly next to the sign for this sight of Paldea spot, and with the tried and true method of Ultra Balls, Timer Balls, or simply saving before encountering Kubfu and resetting the game if the Quick Ball fails to catch on the first throw, obtaining the Wushu Pokemon is as simple as finding it.
