A number of new weapons were added to Elden Ring in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and players can expect to find one that can fit perfectly in their build. One such weapon is the Falx, a paired curved sword with good base damage, fast hits, a unique Ash of War, and a decent Bleed build-up rating.

Fans of Bleed builds with weapons like Rivers of Blood in Elden Ring will want to have this weapon in their inventory, especially if they want to trigger as many Hemorrhage procs as possible against NPCs and players alike. Here’s where you can find it.

Shadow of the Erdtree Falx Overview: Stat Requirements, Effects, & Skill

Description of the Falx curved sword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Curved swords with long, sickle-like blades. A pair of weapons made to be wielded in both hands.

Forged by a hornsent in the name of revenge.

“In vengeance for the flames, my blade I wield…”

The Falx in Shadow of the Erdtree is a new type of curved sword similar to the Serpent-God’s Curved Sword and the Falchion. Its moveset is composed of quick slashes designed for mobile dueling — what it lacks in range, it makes up for in speed and the capacity for aggression.

The Falx can be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones to +10, and unfortunately, it cannot benefit from spell-based or consumable weapon buffs.

The Falx primarily deals Physical Slashing damage along with 55 points of Bleed build-up per hit, similar to the Uchigatana in Elden Ring. All of its attacks are slashes, which means players won’t be able to exploit any enemies that are weak to Piercing or use any stab attacks that would otherwise increase the horizontal range of the weapon.

Falx Weapon Skill: Revenger’s Blade

The Revenger's Blade skill in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Revenger’s Blade is an Ash of War unique to the Falx, which means it cannot be replaced. Thankfully, it’s a very good skill that’s great for closing gaps and rapidly slashing at enemies that are in front of you.

Like the majority of weapon skills, Revenger’s Blade costs FP to cast, and can be chained into a follow-up attack by repeatedly pressing the Heavy Attack button. You can also extend the range of the initial dash by holding down your Ash of War skill button.

Dash up to an enemy and slash them open with the blades held in each hand. By holding down the button, the initial dash will be extended. Follow up with strong attack to hack the enemy to pieces.

Where To Find The Falx In Shadow Of The Erdtree

There are two ways to get the Falx, and both involve the same NPC. If you’re following Hornsent’s story quest in SotE, he’ll invade you at the Rauh Ancient Ruins, just before entering the arena where you fight Romina. Beat him here, and you’ll get the Falx and his whole armor set.

If you didn’t follow Hornsent’s quest, you’ll get the chance to kill him again later once you reach the Cleansing Chamber Anteroom in Enir-Illim and invade Needle Knight Leda’s world. However, you’ll have to fight him, Leda, and Dryleaf Dane.
