Interchange is one of the most popular maps in Battlestate Game’s Escape From Tarkov, and with good reason. Set in a giant shopping complex which served as a central hub for the evacuation of Tarkov, the map contains one large, intricate central structure with a small outdoor perimeter and a number of smaller buildings for the player to explore.
The main complex has three floors: an underground loading area, the main shopping level where the IDEA and Oli megastores are located, and an additional shopping level with smaller shops on the top floor. The majority of Extraction Points are located on the outer perimeter of the outdoor section, though players will need to know exactly where to look in order to make safe extractions within the given time limit of a raid.
Escape From Tarkov: Best Assault Rifles, Ranked
Assault rifles are powerful weapons in Escape from Tarkov, but some will serve players better than others.
There are six main Extraction Points on Interchange for players to be aware of, but whether or not they can access a given point or not will depend on whether they are playing as a Scav or PMC. Certain Extraction Points will be closed off to Scavs, who have fewer options, and players should always be wary of enemies loitering around these locations looking for easy kills. In order to extract, players will simply have to head to the required zone and wait for the timer to reach zero, after which they will leave the game with all of their acquired gear. It it worth noting that it still possible to be killed by enemies, even when placed inside an Extraction Zone.
Easily Accessible Military Checkpoint In The South-East
Perhaps the easiest and most obvious extraction point is the Emercom Checkpoint located in the South-Eastern corner of the map. This area, still showing signs of the panic and chaos of Tarkov’s evacuation, is notable by the number of military vehicles littering the roadway. From the central shopping complex, two supply ramps lead down from the rear side of the Oli warehouse. It can also be spotted from afar by the presence of a large pylon, so following the pylons will eventually lead players to finding this Extraction Zone.
This area is one of the best ones for players to become familiar with since it is quite straightforward to find and has a lot of cover surrounding it. Players can also follow the fence along the east side around the back of the shopping complex until they eventually spot the ramps and the road leading away. Here, a number of military trucks and tents will mark the Extraction Zone. This area is very accessible and, as a result, may be populated with enemy players, particularly towards the later stages of a raid. This particular location can be used by either Scavs or PMCs, which is not the case for every Extraction Point.
Hole In The Fence
Slightly further along the same East fence is a small gap which is also occasionally open for extraction, though less so than some other points. This fence is located directly to the rear of the shopping complex, and is most easily accessed via the parking bay below the main mall. This area can be very dangerous to navigate through, but there is plenty of cover, and players should stick to walls and remain alert at all times in order to survive.
Escape From Tarkov: Best Practical Skills
Don’t sleep on these top-tier practical skills since they can be a game-changer.
The Extraction Point itself is located behind a small set of containers at a small cut-in where the fence diverts from a usual straight line. Provided that this Extraction Zone is active, players can make a quick escape from here having scavenged the lower levels of the mall. This can be a very useful location to extract from when under a lot of pressure, since it is located so close to an entrance to the main complex itself. The Hole In The Fence is only available to PMC players and will not activate when playing as a Scav.
Power Station V-Ex
Another noticeable landmark on the surrounding perimeter of the shopping complex is the large power plant to the North-East, close to the loading ramps at the rear of the IDEA warehouse. This Power Plant is a frequently contested location, and offers plenty of hiding spots for enemies to spring traps, but it is located a very short distance from the megastore, and therefore makes for an excellent fast Extraction Point when some good equipment has been obtained inside.
As a Vehicle Extraction (V-Ex) this particular location will require players to pay a sum of 5000 Roubles to a driver in order to successfully extract. Fortunately, this map offers plenty of opportunities to secure cash, with a number of cash registers located inside the shopping mall for players to loot. The Power Station itself is also notable as it connects with the line of pylons leading down the Eastern wall. Using the pylons as a reference point, players should be able to locate the Power Station in the North-East corner of the map. This Extraction Point is only available at certain times for PMC players.
Railway Exfil
The Railway Exfil point is one of the safer options for extraction, since it is located a fair distance away from the main shopping complex, where most of the fighting is likely to happen. Located in the far North-West, the railway is actually hidden by the highway which runs parallel to it alongside the shopping mall. From the front of the complex on the IDEA side of the mall, players should be able to see a small Go-Kart track in the car park outside. Heading in this direction out towards the motorway, players will notice they can pass over or under it and see a railway line in the distance.
Escape from Tarkov Player Finds His Own Dog Tag
After being killed by a sniper, an Escape from Tarkov player manages to find his dog tag after traveling back to the place where he was shot.
There are a number of scattered containers and vehicles in the area, which can be worth investigating if there is enough time and inventory space to permit it. The Extraction Point is located between the two train carriages which stand beneath a small bridge which marks the edge of the map. From here, players can simply wait within the Extraction Zone in order to safely leave the match with all their gear intact. The Railway Exfil is available for both Scavs and PMCs alike.
Saferoom Exfil
The Saferoom is a unique Extraction Point given that it is located inside the shopping complex itself, rather than along the outer perimeter like most others. This can make it a useful point to know, in order to quickly loot and escape without engaging with high-level and better-armed opponents. The Saferoom itself can be located on the lower floors below the Oli supermarket, though there are Scav spawn nearby, so PMCs should be aware when trying to approach this area.
The quickest way to find the Saferoom is by traveling down the main escalator near the offices and supply room. Due to the complexity of the shopping complex and the chaotic state it is left in, as well as the repetitive nature of the loading bays, it can be quite difficult to locate this particular Extraction Point without a map. This area is best used by experienced players and in high pressure situations where there is very little time remaining in a raid, otherwise it is very risky to attempt. The Saferoom is only accessible to PMCs and Scavs will have to Extract via the perimeter exits.
Scav Camp (Co-Op)
The Scav Camp is the only Co-Op Extraction Point on Interchange and is located behind the containers almost directly opposite the front entrance of the shopping center, which faces the highway to the West. The containers are located on the highway itself, and can be used to extract so long as there are multiple players within the Extraction Zone at one point. This point can be very useful, especially when playing as a group, since it is very easy to locate and highlight to other teammates.
Escape From Tarkov: 8 Best Combat Skills
Combat Skills are absolutely essential in Escape From Tarkov, and these are the skills that players will want to choose.
If playing solo, this point will be virtually inaccessible, since most enemy players will be more likely to attack on sight than to form alliances to extract together. On top of this, the areas is relatively open compared to many other Extraction Points on the map, and can therefore make for an easy target for enemy snipers along the open highway. Once inside the Extraction Zone, the timer will begin to count down once all players in the vicinity have arrived. This particular point can be used either by Scavs or PMC characters, though there will need to be more than one player present in order to activate the extraction.
