In Fallout Shelter, there are many different ways to earn resources such as Caps, from initiating and completing quests, to receiving them from certain in-game characters.
One of the many ways to gain caps is by unlocking Bottle and Cappy, as these are two characters who will appear around your vault, offering you some extra bonuses and rewards if you tap on them while they are dancing. For this reason, knowing how to gain Bottle and Cappy for your own vault can be beneficial to your gameplay experience.

How to Get Bottle & Cappy in Fallout Shelter
In Fallout Shelter, Bottle and Cappy offer unique bonuses for your Vault once acquired. If you have this dynamic duo unlocked, then they will appear around your vault from time to time, boosting the happiness of your Dwellers whenever they are around, and rewarding you with Caps and the occasional Nuka-Cola Quantum. For this reason, knowing how to obtain them is important, as this will enable you to unlock these characters as soon as possible, allowing you to gain the most benefit in the long run of your Vault’s development.
To unlock Bottle and Cappy, you will need to complete a series of quests titled ‘Nabbed From Nuka-World‘. To initiate this questline, you will first need to have at least 18 Dwellers in your Vault. By doing so, you will unlock and be able to build the Overseers Office for 1000 Caos, which will enable you to send Dwellers out on quests.
To receive Bottle and Cappy, you will need to complete the A Refreshing Rescue quest from the Nabbed From Nuka World line. This will require you to send out level 16+ Dwellers with 6+ damage weapons, where finally after battling through rooms of Raiders and Radroaches, you will finally catch up with Bottle and Cappy. After completing this quest, you will receive the following rewards:
- Bottle & Cappy
- Theme Recipe Fragment x2
- Caps x2,911
- Nuka-Cola Quantum x2
After receiving your rewards and returning to your Vault, Bottle and Cappy will then visit your Vault in small intervals, providing a temporary happiness boost for all Dwellers as they walk around. However, if you catch Bottle and Cappy dancing, you can tap on them to receive some extra Caps, or occasionally even some Nuka-Cola Quantum. Most significantly, Bottle and Cappy tend to be easier to identify quickly over the likes of the iconic Mysterious Stranger, so gaining them as soon as possible will provide you with a consistent way to earn these bonuses.
