The companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 are some of the most resonant among gamers in recent memory. Larian’s RPG features a diverse cast, with companion stories that evolve over the course of the game. It’s been amazing to see the impact these characters have had on the game’s community, and hopefully they’ll return in a future Baldur’s Gate game.
The future of the Baldur’s Gate series is a little unclear at the moment. With Larian moving on from Baldur’s Gate to do its own thing, a new studio will be required to take the mantle, which will be a massive ask, when the time comes. Larian’s RPG has set such a high bar with its effort that any other title will always be compared to it, so it’ll be interesting to see what route Wizards of the Coast takes with it.
