China Seemingly Confirms a Final Fantasy 14 Mobile Game is Coming
A new batch of game import approvals in China seemingly confirms that a mobile game based on Final Fantasy 14 is reasonably far into development.
Though each of these features discussed at the 2024 China FanFest was mentioned previously, Yoshida gave Final Fantasy 14 players a first look at what to expect. Some screenshots from both attendees and a Bilibili livestream of Yoshida’s keynote were posted on the r/ffxiv subreddit for all to see. Among the new reveals, Occult’s Crescent was confirmed to be the first zone of the Shades’ Triangle adventuring foray that will begin in Patch 7.2x. Yoshida reiterated that the best parts of the Bozja and Eureka exploration zones were taken into consideration with Shades’ Triangle and Occult’s Crescent, but did not specify what they were.
Final Fantasy 14 Reveals New Screenshots of Ultimate Raid and Cosmic Exploration
Yoshida also showed a screenshot from Final Fantasy 14‘s upcoming Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid. This challenge is based on the Eden raid series from Shadowbringers, and the screenshot showed Fatebreaker from the raid’s 11th encounter would be part of the upcoming gauntlet. Yoshida did not state which part of the battle players would fight Fatebreaker but confirmed that Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) would arrive in Patch 7.11. In addition, two pieces of concept art from the Cosmic Exploration feature were shown as examples of some of the sights that crafters and gatherers will explore. The first picture depicted a lunar base with a monorail, and the second showed a colorful, vibrant planet with mysterious flora and fauna. However, no release window was given for Cosmic Exploration.
Between these reveals and the return of the Moonfire Faire, Final Fantasy 14 players looking for things to do will have no shortage of options. Only time will tell when Yoshida and the development team will reveal more details about upcoming content patches.
