This June, Camden Market will officially launch the Summer Garden, a free open-air space transforming Market Place at Hawley Wharf. Running from 26th June to 2nd September, the sun-filled, canal-side space is designed as the ultimate seasonal hangout for Londoners, workers and families looking to unwind.
Complete with comfortable deckchairs, dedicated seating areas and interactive games, the space offers the perfect environment to enjoy the British summer alongside food and drinks from Camden Market’s world-famous food stalls.
The crown jewel of the early summer schedule arrives on 29th June, when the space transforms into a space for watching Wimbledon. Running daily until 12th July, tennis fans can catch every single match, ace and tiebreak live on a giant outdoor big screen, capturing the electric atmosphere of Centre Court right in the heart of Hawley Wharf.
With a seated capacity of 100 on a first-come, first-served basis, visitors can swap the tournament crowds for premium open-air comfort. Alongside the live match screenings, guests can fully immerse themselves in the British sporting tradition with fresh strawberries and cream from nearby market food stalls.
Perfectly positioned right next to Hawley Wharf’s iconic indoor food halls, the Summer Garden allows guests to seamlessly combine world-class live sport with global street food concepts. Visitors can easily grab dishes and refreshing drinks from the indoor first-floor traders – spanning everything from artisan burgers to international delicacies and bring them directly out into the sunshine.
Beyond the tennis action, the destination features a dedicated, daily Games Zone to bring a layer of friendly competition to the cobbles. Visitors can challenge friends, colleagues or family members to games of table tennis and giant Connect 4 all afternoon and evening.
Summer Garden Highlights
All activities are completely free to access, walk-in and open daily. Seating is strictly available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Wimbledon Outdoor Screenings (29th June – 12th July | 11 am-8 pm): Watch the tournament live on the outdoor big screen. Seating is provided with a 100-chair capacity, and visitors can purchase traditional strawberries and cream from nearby stalls
- The Summer Garden (26th June – 2nd September | 11 am-8 pm daily): A dedicated outdoor space at Market Place, Hawley Wharf, featuring deckchairs and seating areas designed for visitors to unwind
- Games Zone (Open Daily): Table tennis and giant Connect 4 games are available for visitors to use throughout the day
