The main quest in Chenyu Vale involves an Adeptus called Fujin in Genshin Impact. While doing the mission, players will also learn of two other Adepti that play a large role in Fujin’s history. One is Lingyuan, and another is someone called the Herblord, who supposedly has the form of a white snake.
The Herblord did a lot of things that were beneficial for Chenyu Vale, and even after her departure, Travelers will still find plenty of things she left behind. One of them is a bunch of hanging medicine jars in Silently the Butterfly Crosses the Valley quest, where a stone statue will ask players to chase all the butterflies into the medicine jar in Genshin Impact.

Silently the Butterfly Crosses the Valley Quest In Genshin Impact
To trigger Silently the Butterfly Crosses the Valley quest in Genshin Impact, players must head to the cave across the Adeptus’s Repose in Yaodie Valley. By the entrance, there will be a Seelie that will guide the way into the required quest area.
Once inside, players will soon be greeted by a Sacred Simulacrum that tries to scare them into leaving the premises. Of course, since the stone statue is a common sight in Chenyu Vale, the duo is unbothered by the Simulacra’s attempt at scaring them.
Seeing its efforts go in vain, the Sacred Simulacrum instead asks players to help chase all the butterflies into the medicine jar so that the Ancient Tree can bloom again.
How To Chase All The Butterflies Into The Medicine Jar In Genshin Impact
To chase all the butterflies into the medicine jar in Genshin Impact, players must find five colored butterflies in the area. The first one is in a small cave in the southeast where players must move some cauldron to free a green butterfly. To do so, move the first cauldron to the side with one platform. This will remove the barrier that hides the second cauldron.
Afterward, place the two cauldrons next to the barrier that’s trapping the green butterfly. Once that’s done, the creature will return to the medicine jar.
Head east to find some pink/purple butterflies with the Catch butterfly! Prompt on it. Start the mini-game and catch the butterflies in the following places:
- Inside the big vase
- On the lowest stalagmite next to the big vase
- Up on the stalagmite next to the big vase
- South/southeast from the starting point
After freeing the second butterfly, continue the path to the northwest until there’s a Simulacra pedestal. Return the statue to its place, and it’ll talk about a butterfly on a stalagmite.
Climb the stalagmite near the statue, then move the Genshin Impact camera to overlook the cave’s wall, which shows a yellow butterfly on top of a stalagmite. Doing so will automatically cause the butterfly to exit the painting, allowing players to chase the butterfly into the medicine jar.
To the east is a Time Challenge that will lead players to a medicine jar up above, where a blue butterfly is hiding.
North of the yellow butterfly, on higher ground, players will find a spider web, blocking a room with plenty of explosives. The red butterfly is hiding in one of the breakable jars. Destroy all the items in the area, and Hilichurls will surge out, initiating a battle. Defeat all the enemies so that the red butterfly will move.
After chasing all the butterflies into the medicine jar, head back to the entrance and speak with the Sacred Simulacra. A cutscene will start, and players need to get the branch off the tree. Next, either investigate the pool of butterflies or walk to Adeptus’s Repose.
Place the Ancient Tree branch in the Medicine Jar, then check out the hidden vault to complete Silently the Butterfly Crosses the Valley quest in Genshin Impact.
