Goblin Slayer debuted in 2018, and it managed to introduce a number of fun and interesting characters in just 12 episodes. Most of these characters are human adventurers, but there are several who belong to other races. These adventurers explore the world and fight monsters. There are several adventurer ranks, with platinum, gold, and silver being the highest. Thanks to this ranking system, fans know who the strongest characters are.
Goblin Slayer was clearly inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. In fact, many of the spells and classes are identical. There is even a die rolling component. It is true that most of the action revolves around goblin slaying, but fans also enjoyed it because it is a dark series with lighthearted moments. The long-awaited second season will release later this year.
Updated November 26, 2023 by George Voutiritsas: Goblin Slayer fans had to wait five years for the anime’s second season, and so far, it has been worth the wait. There have been some light-hearted moments in season two, but the series is just as dark and violent, and Goblin Slayer and his group have already dealt with dozens of Goblins. Several characters have also received more development. Most fans know who the strongest characters in Goblin Slayer are because of their adventurer ranks, but season two has introduced some new characters, and it has given other side characters like Hero and her party time to show off some of their skills. Some of these characters cannot do much when it comes to actual combat, but they are still capable spell-casters.
15 Wizard Boy Can Cast Strong Fire Spells

Wizard Boy’s older sister was killed by Goblins in Goblin Slayer’s first episode. He decided to become an adventurer so he could kill every Goblin. When he first appeared, Wizard Boy was a quick-tempered rookie who disliked Priests, and he did not like listening to more experienced adventurers. He was almost killed by a troll, and it was at that moment that he understood he needed more training and experience.
Like his name suggests, he is a wizard, and he is capable of using a powerful spell like Fireball to incinerate Goblins. He can also use Shout – which causes certain monsters to run away in fear. Wizard Boy taught himself to use Shout after Dwarf Shaman explained that wizards need to use their spells situationally. He used this spell to save other new advtenturers from a pack of Goblins.
14 Priestess Can Perform Defensive & Support Miracles
Her Abilities Are Useful, But She Is Physically Weak

Priestess’ original party was killed and assaulted by Goblins on their first adventure, and she would have suffered the same fate if Goblin Slayer had not saved her. As a result, she became the first person to join his party. She is a very empathic person, and she tends to get overly emotional during life-threatening situations, but those emotions do not impede her ablility to perform Miracles.
She can blind enemies and heal minor injuries, and she can shield her allies with protective barriers. Later on, she gains the ability to use Purify – which removes impurities from people and objects. Her Miracles make her an important part of Goblin Slayer’s party, but she has virtually no combat skills.
13 Witch Is A Gifted Spell-Caster Who Can Use Effective Spells
Her Magic Is Very Strong, But She Is Not A Fighter

Witch is a silver-ranked adventurer who travels with Spearman, and unlike other witches, she uses her powers for good. She is a beautiful woman with long purple hair, and she causes others to feel embarrassed because of her seductive demeanor. She is considered by many to be the most beautiful woman in the world.
Witch is by no means a fighter, but she is a powerful spell-caster who possesses multiple spells and magical objects. She can use Magic Missle for offense and Deflect Missle to ward off nonmagical projectiles. She can put multiple enemies to sleep, and she can enchant weapons with magical fire.
12 High Elf Archer Is Highly Skilled With A Bow
Great Ranged Adevnturer, But Her Melee Skills Are A BIt Lacking

She may be over 2,000 years old, but High Elf Archer is still considered young by elven standards. She is a silver-ranked adventurer who has been friends with Goblin Slayer since the second episode. Despite her age, she is still quite innocent, but she is also hot-tempered and prone to outbursts, especially when she speaks to Dwarf Shaman.
High Elf Archer carries a pair of knives, but she prefers to use her great bow and shortbow to hit enemies from afar. Her accuracy is incredible, to the point that she can fire multiple arrows at once and shoot arrows on curved paths.
11 Dwarf Shaman Is An Experienced Adventurer & Spell Caster
Has An Arsenal Of Useful Spells & He Is A Decent Melee Fighter

Dwarf Shaman is an experienced silver-ranked adventurer who likes to tease High-Elf Archer. He is happy and cheerful most of the time, and he will help people with their training. He also reassures his friends if they are ever distraught.
Dwarf Shaman can cast up to four spells a day. He can force enemies to pass out as if they were heavily intoxicated, and he can manipulate stone to create walls and deadly projectiles. He can control elemental spirits, and he can create frightening illusions. Unlike most spell-casters, Dwarf Shaman can fight in close quarters. He is pretty good with a handaxe, and he’s used it to take out a number of Goblins.
10 Female Knight Is A Great Swordswoman & Defensive Tactitian
She Can Fight, But In A More Supporting Role

Female Knight is part of Heavy Warrior’s party, and she is a silver-ranked adventurer with a noble upbringing. She is a beautiful woman with blond hair and body-fitting armor. She is a reliable fighter with a strong sense of duty, but she becomes very argumentative when she gets drunk at parties.
Thanks to her noble background, she is well-educated and well-versed in swordsmanship and defensive strategies. She uses a large shield and longsword. She used to be able to bless her weapon with holy energy, but her arrogance caused her to lose access to this power.
9 Lizard Priest Is A Capable Warrior
Can Fight With With His Bare Hands Or Blades

Lizard Priest is part of Goblin Slayer’s party, and like his name suggests, he is a large humanoid lizard. He looks like a dinosaur, and most people are intimidated by him, including his friends. He wears traditional Lizardman garb to represent his priesthood, but he wears a chest guard for protection.
He is a calm and respectful silver-ranked adventurer who loves cheese. Lizard Priest is a capable warrior who can use four spells a day and fight at close range. He can slice through a Hobgoblin with ease, and he was able to face Ogre by himself while Goblin Slayer was incapacitated. He can fight with his bare hands, and he can transform his fangs into scimitar-like blades.

Heavy Warrior is another silver-ranked adventurer, and he has a lot of respect for Goblin Slayer, who once saved his home village from goblins. He is a tall man with a chiseled face, and he usually wears a black suit of armor with a cape. He has a soft side, but he likes to fight strong opponents, which is why he became an adventurer.
He is strong enough to block an attack from a goblin champion before cutting it in two, and he can shatter a gargoyle into pieces. He wears a magic ring as well as magical gloves and bracers, and he gains a significant strength boost from each of these items.

Spearman is a silver-ranked adventurer, and has a one-sided rivalry with Goblin Slayer because he seemingly looks down on him. He also does not like the fact that Goblin Slayer does not acknowledge his accomplishments. Spearman is a confident and courageous fighter, and he believes in justice.
Like his name suggests, his weapon of choice is an enchanted spear, but he can use two spells every day. He has been fighting monsters for years, and all that experience allowed him to take down some hobgoblins and a goblin champion in mere moments. People call him the “Frontier’s Strongest,” and he was even offered to become a Royal Guard.

Sword Saint is a gold-ranked adventurer, and she is considered the most level-headed member of Hero’s party. She tolerates Hero’s childish behavior in the same way an older sister would. She is very protective of her friends, and she will often draw her sword if she senses any type of threat or suspicion.
She wields a single-edged long sword, and Goblin Slayer himself stated that she is highly skilled with the blade. She played a part in the Demon Lord’s most recent defeat, and she is able to cut down monsters with a single swing.
4 Sword Maiden Was A High-Ranking Adventurer
She Can Cast High-Level Defensive & Heal Spells

Sword Maiden currently serves as the Temple of Law’s Archbishop of the Supreme God, but prior to that, she was known as Female Bishop. She is an extremely beautiful woman who covers her eyes with blindfold. Thanks to her position, she wields a great deal of religious and political influence. She was part of the group that defeated the Demon Lord ten years ago.
She was a gold-ranked adventurer, which means that she is one of the world’s most powerful humans. She could not overcome the trauma she sustained from the goblins, but she is capable of casting high-level defensive spells.
3 Goblin Lord Is A Platinum-Level Enemy
Can Control A Large Goblin Horde & He Can Fight

Goblin Lord may not be as strong as other anime villains, but he is still dangerous. He is taller than ordinary goblins, and he sports a muscular build. He became a wanderer after his nest was wiped out, and this allowed him to become far more resourceful and intelligent.
Thanks to his intelligence, he was able to command a large goblin horde, which included multiple hobgoblins and two goblin champions. He uses a high grade double-headed battle axe that he took from another adventurer, and he was able to fight Goblin Slayer to a standstill with it. According to Goblin Slayer, Goblin Lord is a platinum-level enemy.
2 Captain Is A Skilled Samurai-Like Warrior

Captain is a gold-ranked adventurer who wears red and black armor. The armor is stylized in such a way that he looks like a fantasy-themed samurai. He is the main character of the spin-off light novel, Goblin Slayer Side Story II: Daikatana. He formed a six-person party with Sword Maiden, and they were able to kill the Demon Lord a decade ago.
Not much is known about Captain, but he is a very composed and couragous adventurer. He is not the kind of person who would rush into battle, instead he prefers to listen to his party’s opinions. He wields his katana with great skill, and he can cast several offensive spells like Magic Missile and Fireball.
1 Hero Is The Platinum-Ranked Adventurer With A Powerful Holy Sword
She Can Wipe Out The Demon Lord’s Minions With Ease

Hero received limited screen time, but she is actually the strongest female character in Goblin Slayer. She is very friendly, and she understands that Goblins are dangerous. That being said, she can be very confident and arrogant. She can also be quite impulsive, to the point that she will intentionally give away her party’s location to make a flashy introduction.
She is the one who defeated the Demon Lord, and in doing so, she became a platinum-ranked adventurer. Her skills and abilities are so high that she was able to defeat the Demon Lord’s forces with relative ease. She wields the Holy Sword, which she found on her first adventure. She uses the sword as a conduit for her spells, and she usually shoots the Firebolt spell at enemies.
