Upon its unveiling at the 2023 Game Awards, God of War Ragnarok‘s Valhalla DLC was made to look like little more than a combat simulator that made use of roguelite elements to keep players entertained. However, not too long after starting the DLC, players will come to realize that it is much more than that, with Valhalla actually serving more as a story expansion for God of War Ragnarok.

Valhalla sees Kratos confronting his past while also battling one or two more of his inner demons in the process. To be clear, combat is what drives the experience forward and keeps players engaged, but the story component definitely brings a lot to the table and should therefore go down well with series fans. Valhalla is around four hours in length and is made up of six chapters in total, with each one consisting of multiple (albeit, sometimes repeating) objectives.
