Cache Retrieval is one of the three beginner quests in Gray Zone Warfare, and it’ll send players down to a nearby town to plant some trackers for shipments of equipment. It’s a fairly simple job, but it can be a little confusing since players won’t have any idea what their objectives look like before starting their deployment.
Much like GZW’s First Recon task, Cache Retrieval will have players uncovering more POIs in their starting location. However, since this task involves entering compounds deep inside NPC-controlled territory, expect heavier resistance than usual. Here’s how to finish this quest.

Here’s what you’ll need to do in Gray Zone Warfare to complete the Negotiator task.
Gray Zone Warfare: Cache Retrieval Guide
The exact map grid coordinates you need to visit for this task vary depending on which faction you signed up with. However, as of writing, the cache locations within the objective areas are the same regardless of faction.
This job is given to players by Gunny, the vendor responsible for selling guns and ammo in Gray Zone Warfare. The goal here is to plant trackers in two different crates — one in a warehouse, and one in a lumberyard. As soon as you start the quest, it’s imperative that you grab the trackers from your inventory. Place them in your secure box, so you don’t lose them in the off-chance you get killed in action.
Gear up and pick a landing zone close to one of the objectives. If you’re not sure where they are, check the Tasks screen and look for the grid coordinates next to each objective. Hover your mouse over a grid square to quickly find its grid designation.
The cache in the warehouse is in a small room outside the main storage area. It’s a box on top of a larger stack of crates. Meanwhile, lumber yard cache is in a shed next to the stacks of wooden planks. It’s on a similar stack of wooden crates next to a table with a lit lamp. A prompt to hide a tracker will appear if you aim over the caches.
There’s a high chance that these areas will have NPCs guarding them, so load up on guns, ammo, and meds before leaving the base. Injuries like broken bones in GZW will severely hamper your performance — if you get shot, make sure to have the right treatment items available.
Once you’re done, exfil by clicking on your base’s icon on the map screen. This will summon a chopper to a landing zone close to your position. Completing the task rewards you with ammo, grenades, money, and reputation points for Gunny.
