GTA Online: Where to Get Molotovs

Grand Theft Auto Online lets you acquire a large arsenal of advanced weaponry. Ammunation gun stores are packed with all sorts of powerful guns and grenades for you to cause mayhem. For some reason, Molotovs are not sold at the regular gun stores in Los Santos.

This can be a pain as you fill out your inventory. You should still want them as they are still very useful during car chases and gunfights. There are a few ways to get some while free roaming in the city. This guide will show you how you can get Molotovs in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Merryweather Ammo Drops

Merryweather is a mercenary company that acts as an antagonizing force in Grand Theft Auto Online. You can also hire them for help. This is the most convenient way to get molotovs as long as you have the cash.

Open your phone and find Merryweather in the contacts. Call them up and they will give you a few options. Call in an Ammo Drop for $1000. Wait a moment to see their plane fly overhead while dropping a supply crate. The Ammo Drop will be marked as a green icon on your minimap. Walking near the crate will give you ammo for your equipped weapon along with a few molotovs.

Don’t call an Ammo Drop in crowded areas as it can be stolen by other players. There is a cooldown, so you can’t call in too many drops back to back. If you cannot use Merryweather’s services, spend some more time in free roam to get a call from them.

Gun Van

The Gun Van was added as part of the Los Santos Drug Wars update. This van is a useful store for purchasing rare weapons and gear regardless of your current level. The Gun Van inventory will also be cheaper than regular gun stores. It will change locations every 24 hours. You must be within 500 meters of if for the icon to show up on your map. The Gun Van will usually be selling molotovs at a reasonable price. Keep an eye out for it when free roaming the city of Los Santos.

Submarines/Bunkers/Missions

There are a couple of ways to get molotovs for free in Los Santos.

• You can find molotovs regularly in the mess hall of the Kosatka submarine once you own it.
• Do the “Torched” biker contract if you are part of a Motorcycle club.
• Find molotovs in the shooting range of your bunker if you’ve purchased one.
