Helldivers 2: How To Change Ship Name

While fighting against the alien invaders to save Super Earth in Helldivers 2, your ship will be your main base from where you will operate everything. To make things more interesting, the game involves a lot of customization and cosmetics. This includes upgrades for your ship’s module and choosing a fitting name.

Players can even change the name of their ship if they want, which will show up when hosting a match in multiplayer. Unfortunately, changing the ship name isn’t easy to understand for players that may have missed it in the beginning moments of Helldivers 2. Your ship’s name is always displayed on the top of your screen while you are on it, along with your name as the operator. Thus, it might not be the most pleasant feeling to see a name that you don’t like.

Fortunately, changing the name of your ship in Helldivers 2 is an easy task. After completing the tutorial, which will take around 20 to 30 minutes, you will first be able to select a name for your ship.

You may rename your ship as many times as you like in the game. To do this, head inside your ship and then go to the Ship Management terminal at the back.

The terminal can only be accessed after you finish the game’s tutorial.

Selecting one of the four adjacent monitors will allow you to access the Ship Management menu. Once you are in the Ship Management menu, select Destroyer. On the right side of the screen, you will see the option “Change Ship Name.” Left-click your mouse button or press Square to access the renaming menu if you play on a PlayStation console.

Once you have entered, you will be given a few options to choose from for your ship’s name in an X of Y format like ‘Distributor of Equality.’ Select a prefix using the choices on the left scroll bar, followed by a suffix using the options on the right scroll bar.

To make modifications to the name of your ship, select the name you wish and then left-click on Apply Name (or hit X on PlayStation).

While you can rename your ship in the game, the options are restricted because you can’t give it the precise name you want like you could in Starfield. Instead, you will inevitably have to select from a few pre-set alternatives. However, these pairings may undoubtedly result in some amusing names. So make sure you look around and try different combinations of names to find the one that pleases your mind.

There is no restriction on how often you may rename your ship, so feel free to do so. So, test, test, and test some more until you find the ideal name for your battleship.
