7 Craghas Drahar

Early into House of the Dragon, Craghas Draghar emerges as a hindrance to the crown as the Crabfeeder and his army take control of the Stepstones, restricting cargo coming in and out of Westeros. Covered in greyscale, Craghas wears a mask to cover his face, masking his identity in the process.

Fighting for the Free Cities, Craghas takes the Stepstones at their behest, with the Crabfeeder torturing Westerosi crews by feeding them to the crabs. Craghas’ cruelty comes to an end through the intervention of Daemon Targaryen. However, the Crabfeeders’ impact was felt greatly in Westeros, with their effects still lingering after his death.

6 Aemond Targaryen

Aemond Targaryen is a slippery character, with the talented warrior and dragon rider becoming a pivotal player in the Dances of Dragons. As the younger brother to Aegon, Aemond has to play second fiddle as his brother becomes king, usurping Rhaenyra in the process.

With Aegon as king, Aemond has to put up with his brother’s rule despite having different ideas and opinions about ruling, which he keeps to himself. Aemond’s dark demeanor and attitude toward his family and the small council make Aemond mystifying, with his ambitions yet to be fully revealed.

5 Larys Strong

Being an overseer of King’s Landing’s underbelly, Mysaria has built up a network of spies, making her a key player in Westeros’ capital. Formally a slave hailing from Yi Ti, Mysaria has grown to be a powerful individual who operates from the shadows, with the character becoming involved in frequent political schemes involving Otto and Rhaenyra.

After her actions cause her to serve Rhaenyra, the White Worm learns the inner workings of Dragonstone. With the use of her skillset, Mysaria has an innate knowledge of both sides of the war despite her motives not being completely clear, making her a mysterious individual.


3 Daemon Targaryen

The Rogue Prince Daemon Targaryen is a character of much mystery to audiences and even himself, with the Prince Consort having an identity crisis based on his lineage. Since the start of House of the Dragon, Daemon has struggled with his position in his family, leading to the character being a difficult individual for the crown to handle.

Daemon’s jealousy of his brother Viserys Targaryen and his wife Rhaenyra leads to Daemon growing disillusioned with his place in House Targaryen, with the Rogue Prince fleeing to Harrenhal during the Dance of Dragons. In his time at the haunted Harrenhal, Daemon receives visions, leading to an identity crisis, causing him to be a mystery to his wife and himself.


2 Helaena Targaryen

Targaryen Dreamer That Can Foresee The Future

When Daemon becomes haunted by visions of himself and his family, Alys becomes aware of his troubles, choosing to be an ominous figure who frequently speaks with Daemon in the castle.

When Daemon first gets a vision that leads the Prince Consort to be found outside his quarters, Alys states that Daemon will die at Harrenhal. With the Rogue Prince spending more time in Harrenhal, Alys becomes his acquaintance, offering him words of wisdom. At present, Alys has only interacted with Daemon, with the supposed healer becoming a growing influence in his life despite her dark and ominous vibe.
