With the full release of Last Epoch, Eleventh Hour Games is also dropping some Twitch bonuses. Here is a guide on how players can access Twitch drops.

Much like in other games in the genre, Sifting through every piece of gear that drops in Last Epoch is going to be a pain. Thankfully, there’s a built-in loot filter that’ll save you from the hassle of checking if the item that dropped is worth your time. If you’re wondering how this loot filter works, this short guide’s got you covered.

Last Epoch Loot Filter Guide

Loot filter tooltip in Last Epoch

If you’re new to this genre of games, a loot filter is a feature that hides or emphasizes the items that drop from enemies, chests, or other sources. Anything that drops onto the floor is subject to the loot filter’s gaze, blocking or highlighting it depending on the player’s preferred parameters. In Last Epoch, you can configure loot filters by pressing the Shift+F keys while in-game.

Last Epoch’s loot filter functions depending on the rules listed inside them. What a rule does depends on the conditions you set in each one. For first-time loot filter makers, we highly recommend sticking with just one condition per rule so as not to convolute things any further. Once you get the hang of how things work, feel free to add more conditions per rule.

Setting up your own custom loot filter can be confusing at first, especially since there are essentially two layers of filter to work with. Not every stat is useful for Last Epoch’s classes, and for new players, it’s best to focus on finding the right gear that fits your build. As an example, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make a basic loot filter for a Minion-focused Acolyte:

  1. Press Shift+F
  2. Create a new filter
  3. Add rules with the following conditions:
    • Show and Emphasize Minion-related affixes
    • Hide irrelevant elemental damage types (Cold, Lightning, Void, etc)
    • Hide irrelevant weapon types (Two-handed Swords, Maces, Shields, etc)
    • Hide Primalist, Mage, Sentinel, and Rogue-specific items
    • Hide Normal/Magic-rarity items

Experiment with rule conditions as you go. You can use the search bar in the condition selection screen to find specific affixes that you don’t want to see.

Once these rules are set, the names of any item that has Minion-related affixes should now be shown with bold, upper-case letters. Meanwhile, the name tags of all other pieces of gear with the specified conditions above will no longer be visible unless you press X. If you ever plan on switching classes or specializing into a Mastery like Last Epoch’s Lich, then you’ll want to use a different loot filter so you don’t miss out on good gear.

Players also have the choice to import loot filters created by other members of the community. You can find some over at the official Last Epoch forums.
