A dedicated Minecraft fan has completed the monumental task of building an enormous potato farm in survival mode, one that they allege is the largest of its kind ever recorded. Although that may sound like a bit of an exaggeration, this farm is legitimately much bigger than most would expect; a single look at this player’s creation can prove that. This might be a rather strange accomplishment to recognize, but if nothing else, it does show that the Minecraft community still hasn’t run out of bizarre challenges to give itself.

Since Minecraft‘s initial debut in 2009, fans of the wildly popular sandbox game have put their skills to the test by building massive structures while playing in survival mode. Sometimes these gamers spend weeks, if not months, manually gathering resources like weapons, tools, blocks, and other materials in order to make impressive new builds. This process is often tedious, but it can end up with amazing results. For example, one Minecraft fan created a desert-themed mega base in survival mode, while another player made a surprisingly accurate replica of the Eiffel Tower. As impressive as these two creations are, though, neither of them are nearly as large in scale as a farm that one Minecraft player recently built.

Minecraft Player Builds Incredible Replica of the Eiffel Tower in Survival

A dedicated Minecraft player created a massive scale replica using resources they gathered themselves in survival mode, impressing fans online.

A Reddit user named Abuildingcat_ took to the r/Minecraft subreddit to share a video of their latest accomplishment in the acclaimed open-world sandbox game: a humongous potato farm that they made while playing in survival mode. Boasting exactly 250,876 potatoes, this build is undeniably gigantic. It’s so massive, in fact, that it’s the largest Minecraft potato farm ever recorded, at least according to what Abuildingcat_ could gather online. The previous holder of this achievement, a farm made in 2020 by a fellow Redditor named ssskull_, apparently contained around 247,000 potatoes based off of Abuildingcat_’s calculations, so this more recent farm is larger by a considerable amount.

This Massive Minecraft Potato Farm Was Made in Honor of Technoblade

This potato farm wasn’t easy to make, as it took 16 arduous days to plant the crops in Minecraft. Of course, Abuildingcat_ could have just used the game’s creative mode to get things done faster, but they chose not to do so. This is, in part, due to the fact that the potato farm was made as a tribute to Technoblade, the famous Minecraft YouTuber who passed away in 2022. Technoblade’s birthday was on June 1, so Abuildingcat_’s farm was created with the intent of commemorating the event.

As one of the best sandbox games of all time, Minecraft provides players with tons of choice and agency. Some gamers use the freedom given to them to build expansive, detailed cities and complex, redstone-powered contraptions. Others, meanwhile, take their time to make sillier creations like incredibly large potato farms instead. At least, in Abuildingcat_’s case, their farm in Minecraft serves as a touching tribute.
