Much like in previous seasons on Invasions Mode, every mesa that Mortal Kombat 1 players visit during the Season the Cryomancer features a locked gate or two, with the icy walls blocking access to all manner of great rewards. As well as a plethora of super tough boss fights, players will also find a healthy selection of chests and Klues, through which they can obtain a bunch of unique winter-themed cosmetics.
Mortal Kombat 1: How to Complete the SLAPPED TOGETHER Klue in Season 3 of Invasions
Those looking for the SLAPPED TOGETHER Klue solution shouldn’t have to search too hard, as it shares its name with one of the game’s many Fatalities.
In order to open these locked gates, Mortal Kombat 1 players will need to find the Cryomancer Heart: a special key item that can be obtained in the Rampart mesa. Getting the Cryomancer Heart is far from easy, but it’s well worth the effort due to all of the fantastic content that it unlocks. It’s one of several key items that players will need to track down as they make their way through Invasions Mode, the locations of which can be found below.
How to Get the Cryomancer Heart in Mortal Kombat 1
To get the Cryomancer Heart, players will need to defeat Arctic Sub-Zero in the final node of the Rampart mesa. This can be an incredibly difficult encounter due to its unique mechanics, but with the right strategy, players shouldn’t have too much trouble defeating the Season 3 main boss. Upon doing so, the Cryomancer Heart will appear in the rewards screen, after which, players will be able to use it to get past the locked gates in the six main mesas of Season 3.
Mortal Kombat 1: How to Complete the BIG FINISH Klue in Season 3 of Invasions
The BIG FINISH Klue isn’t actually that difficult to solve, at least not for Mortal Kombat 1 players who are familiar with Fatality names.
Where to Find Every Key Item in Invasions Mode Season 3
In addition to the Cryomancer Heart, there are six other key items for players to obtain in Season 3 of Invasions Mode. These ones are needed to complete their respective mesas rather than visiting optional areas though, so finding them will be essential for those hoping to finish the Season of the Cryomancer before it ends in mid-February. The following table contains the node on which these items are obtained and a brief description of where that node is relative to the locked gate.
Key Item |
Node |
Location |
---|---|---|
Tark-Key (Tarkatan Colony) |
Jawsome |
The Tark-Key can be obtained by completing the Jawsome node, which is in the area just beyond the forge that’s closest to the locked gate. The node itself is near a chest and a wooden suspension bridge leading to a shop. |
Bo’s WMD (Fengjian Village) |
Survive |
Players will get Bo’s WMD by completing the Survive node in the enclosed area of the mesa with all the little karts and stalls. To complete the node, players will need to dodge some projectiles, which is best done with a tanky kombatant like Reiko. |
Mad Monk Key (Fire Temple) |
Everybody’s Here |
Players will get the Mad Monk Key as a reward for completing the Everybody’s Here tower, which is found on the right side of the Fire Temple’s middle tier, one layer down from the one with the locked gate. |
Kashoo’s Tail (Living Forest) |
Towering Over You |
To get the Kashoo’s Tail key item, players will need to complete the Towering Over You tower node, which is to the left of the shop nearest to the locked gate. |
Lost Experiment (Shang Tsung’s Lab) |
Damned if You Don’t |
Players will get the Lost Experiment as a reward for completing the Damned if You Don’t boss node, which is right by the staircase that leads down to the mesa’s lowest level and its locked gate. |
Armory Key (Rampart) |
Squishy Shoes |
The Armory Key can be obtained by completing the Squishy Shoes node, which is in the upper section of the Rampart mesa. To reach it, players will need to head up the stairs on either the left or right side of the area immediately before the locked gate. It’s about as far away from the gate as physically possible, so players will need to complete an awful lot of fights in order to make their way there. |
