How to Do the Out of Bounds Glitch
The Out of Bounds glitch in Stardew Valley allows you to access hidden regions of the map or walk off-screen to bypass obstacles. This can help you reach areas that are normally locked until later in the game.
- To do this glitch, firstly you’ll need a tool that causes slight movement when used, such as a Scythe. You should move to the edge of the map to perform the glitch and get as close as possible without triggering the area transition.
- Now, equip a Scythe and use it consecutively to push your character closer to the edge of the screen. The goal is to get your character to the point where they are almost off the screen.
- Once your character becomes almost invisible, start moving along the edge of the map. However, be careful not to go too far when using the nudge technique as this might push you into the next area.
To track your character’s position, leave a small part of your character, such as the tip of
the hair
, visible to help you track their movement. Additionally, when you are moving upwards, listen to the sound of your footsteps on the grass to follow your position if your character is completely offscreen.

How to Get the Summit Cheat Cutscene in Stardew Valley
Luckily, you can use Out of Bounds glitches to cheat the Summit Cutscene that otherwise requires Perfection. This involves you first reaching the Railroad using this glitch and then traveling north from there to reach where the cutscene will take place. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of how to do so:
- To reach the Railroad area using the Out of Bounds glitch in Stardew Valley, start by navigating to Robin’s Carpenter Shop. From there, move towards the road leading to Pelican Town. Equip your Scythe and stand as close as possible to the bottom edge of the screen, ensuring you don’t trigger the transition to the next area.
- Face your character downwards and use the Scythe continuously to nudge your character down until they almost disappear from the screen, leaving a few strands of hair visible to track your position. Once your character is nearly offscreen, move to the left until the hair is no longer visible.
- Next, walk upward and continue moving until the screen shifts upward, which will take you to the top part of the area where you will find the entrance to the Railroad. At this point, your character will be in the top left corner of the screen.
- Now go to the right side until the screen starts moving again, then walk downward until you see your character appear at the top of the cliff. Once you see your character, walk back up and then move left, which will take you to the loading zone of the Railroad.
How to Reach Summit with the Out of Bounds Glitch
- Once you have glitched your way to the Railroad entrance, face downward toward the direction you came from. Equip your Scythe and use it to nudge your character downward until only the hair is visible.
- Move to the right, and continue moving until you see the screen shifting to the right as you move along. Keep going right until you reach the far end of the screen. After reaching the end, start moving upward and keep going until you reach the very top.
When you are moving upward, you will not be able to track your character visually. Instead, you can rely on the sound of your footsteps and the upward shifting of the screen to confirm your movement.
- Once at the very top, move left towards the path leading to the Summit entrance. Continue going left until you trigger the loading screen for the Summit cutscene where Mister Qi awaits you, marking the Summit ends.
Once the cutscene ends, another cutscene will be triggered where you’ll find yourself in the hospital. The doctor will inform you that someone found you unconscious and battered. He’ll perform surgery on you and charge you for the treatment. Additionally, you’ll lose some items from your inventory.
