Mystery Boxes are a new addition to Stardew Valley, and they can provide you with a variety of valuables, food, resources, and more. Similar to geodes, Mystery Boxes can be opened up at the Blacksmith to find out what lies inside, but they cannot be opened at home with a Geode Crusher.

You can find Mystery Boxes through a few different methods, which includes some mining, taking part in festivals, and even digging up through Artifact Spots. If you’re curious to know all the methods you can use to find some Mystery Boxes, this guide has all the information you need.

Where to Find Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley

Mystery Boxes are a new item in Stardew Valley that can be broken open by the Blacksmith. There are a few different locations where you can get Mystery Boxes, including:

Mystery Boxes are quite common at the festivals introduced in Version 1.6, so if you have one coming up soon, you’ll be able to get your hands on some. The easiest method, however, is to just purchase them when the Desert Festival arrives in Spring.

If you’d rather go out and find some, you can do a little bit of fishing or mining to find some Mystery Boxes. With fishing, however, the chances of getting a Mystery Box is only about 12 percent. Each method of obtaining one is random, so it will be hard to actively search for Mystery Boxes. It is better to just wait for the festivals to roll around and obtain them through these means.
