Taylew’s Ruined Forge Walkthrough in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a huge DLC for an already massive title. It introduces dozens of new dungeons, catacombs, and hidden areas for players to discover in the Land of Shadow. One of these is Taylew’s Ruined Forge.

Home to three Smithscript weapons, Taylew’s Ruined Forge can be found in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Tarnished looking to complete their collection of all of the new weapons introduced in the DLC won’t want to miss clearing this dungeon.

How to Reach Taylew’s Ruined Forge in Elden Ring DLC

Taylew’s Ruined Forge can be found just north of the Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace, at the northwestern corner of the map (location detailed above). Summon Torrent to ride along the road, and you will reach a marble structure with a lit brazier. The entrance to the Ruined Forge is a small archway that’s easy to miss. Enter to find Taylew’s Ruined Forge Site of Grace.

Taylew’s Ruined Forge Complete Guide

From the Taylew’s Ruined Forge Site of Grace, go down the tunnel to reach a balcony overlooking a lake of lava. Pick up the Shadow Realm Rune [3] from the corpse next to the railing and take the stairs to the left. Take care of the Lava Slime that drops from the ceiling and use the ladder to climb down.

Jump across the small gap in the broken floor and enter the chamber to the left. There is a Golem Smith sitting in an ambush to the right. Pick up the Smithscript Axe behind him, and head back the way you came.

Golem Smiths are extremely slow; they won’t give chase.

Back in the lava room, you’ll see a large metal pipe you can use as a walkway. Take a running start and jump on the protruding section to land safely. Jump to the crumbling stone balcony on the other side to find the Smithscript Greathammer behind a Lava Slime. Pick it up and get back on the pipe.

This time, follow the pipe towards the top until you can see two balconies you can jump to: one to the left and one to the right. Go left first and pick up the Smithing Stone [4] from the corpse on the ground. There are two Golem Smiths ready to fight here. Ignore them and go to the back of the room where the second Golem Smith is standing. There will be an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone on a corpse right next to the metal pipe. Pick it up and jump back on the pipe.

Head to the balcony on the right this time. The room to the right leads back to the pipe, and the tunnel in front of you progresses deeper into the Ruined Forge. Go through the tunnel to find a room with two more Golem Smiths and a Lava Slime. Walk up the broken pillar to the section where the Lava Pot-wielding Golem is, and you’ll find the Smithscript Shield on a corpse. Turn back around, and you’ll see a balcony you can jump over. Do so to drop down to the floor below.

Turn right and pick up the Smithing Stone [8] from the corpse next to the wall. There will be a small tunnel behind just before this corpse with a ladder inside. Take the ladder to go up to the last section. There will be a platform with a Golem Smith and a Lava Slime directly behind you after you climb the ladder with a corpse that has a Somber Smithing Stone [3] . Go up the stairs in front of the ladder and pull the lever at the far end of the room to the left. This will trigger a mechanism to change the direction of the large metal pipe.

Drop down to the metal platform below this room, and then down again to the stone floor. Go down the stairs, and you will see a corpse with Somber Smithing Stone [8] on it next to a hole in the wall.

Look down, and you’ll see a part of the metal pipe you can jump to from this hole. Turn left, and run up the pipe until you see a balcony on either side.

Jump left and take the stairs to reach the final altar. Interact with the altar to obtain Taylew the Golem Smith Spirit Ash, and another Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone .
