During the June Xbox Games Showcase, The Elder Scrolls Online confirmed that all DLC will be free for a limited time. The Elder Scrolls Online periodically offers free trials for ESO Plus, and the latest one revolves around the game’s tenth anniversary.
The Elder Scrolls Online was first released to a mixed reception in 2014. While much of the community gravitated towards what ZeniMax Online Studios was doing with the Elder Scrolls franchise in an MMORPG setting, others missed the gravitas of the single-player adventures. Despite this, the MMO has continued to grow over the years, with over a dozen DLC packs under its belt. Although it hasn’t reached the milestones of some MMOs, Elder Scrolls Online has become a billion-dollar game. In celebration of the continued success, ESO Plus and all of its content are free for players to try for a limited time.

Among the trailers shown off during the latest Xbox Games Showcase was a 10-year anniversary update from Elder Scrolls Online. The ZeniMax MMO is in the midst of its Golden Road expansion, which was released on June 3, 2024. Like expansions before it, Golden Road introduced tons of new content to ESO, including the zone of West Weald, the Scribing skill, and the Lucent Citadel dungeon. Golden Road and all the previous DLC are featured in ESO Plus, which bundles all the game’s offerings for a monthly fee. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax has made ESO Plus free until June 19 at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time.
Among the ESO Plus benefits that all players can have access to are more crafting storage, free crowns, extra bank space, costume dyeing, and more. This limited trial for ESO Plus may inspire some players to try the game for the first time, given that all the expansions are playable. Beyond the potential for new players, it may also result in more paying members after the conclusion of the free trial. While these free ESO Plus trials happen at different times, it’s unclear how long players will need to wait for the next one. For players to start their free trial, they will need to log into the game, go to the Crown Store, select the ESO Plus tab, and choose the free trial option.
With Elder Scrolls 6 merely confirmed by a teaser trailer, this ESO Plus free trial may be ideal for players looking to scratch the fantasy RPG itch. Although Elder Scrolls 6 wasn’t part of the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda revealed Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and the next Fallout 76 map expansion.
