Sims can live life and death to the fullest by scratching items off their bucket list in The Sims 4.
For some players, locating him can be tricky at first. Yet, once players know what signs to look for and which areas of Ravenwood he frequents, tracking him down becomes a straightforward task. Here’s a guide to help players locate the Mysterious Merchant and make the most of his fascinating wares.
Where to find the Mysterious Merchant?
Waylon Wares will be primarily found roaming Eternal Hollow Cemetery in the Mourningwood neighborhood, but only during the night. Players will be able to notice him as an elder male ghost. However, he might also appear in other locations, primarily during certain festivals, especially the Thinned Festiveil in Mourningwood, or Ravenwood Family Day in Crow’s Crossing. However, he doesn’t always appear in other smaller events such as Afterlife Anonymous or The Moon Revelry.
Mysterious Merchant Interactions
Players interacting with the Mysterious Merchant Waylon Warez will discover a unique set of options beyond typical social interactions. Under the exclusive Mysterious Merchant menu, Sims can choose from a series of intriguing and potentially game-changing actions. These include purchasing a random item for 750 simoleons, buying a premade will, inquiring about mysterious items, and Selling essences of Fear and Goodwill for 10 simoleons each. Players can also Purchase Warez, a function that opens Waylon’s current inventory of items, which includes random but often helpful or unique items, and the option to haggle for potential discounts.
The random item purchase, Take a Chance on a Mysterious Item, is unpredictable—sometimes yielding high-value or rare objects and sometimes offering less useful items. Purchase Authentic Premade Will is another interesting option, though it favors the Mysterious Merchant, as much of the will-holder’s funds will be directed to him if they die.
Purchase Warez inventory, however, holds the real gems: alongside random items like fish and various moodlet essences that will change on each different encounter, it stocks exclusive items like Lost Souls—perfect for the Sims in the Reaper Active Career needing a few extra to reach their weekly quota—plus the Grim Deluxe Ascendant Crow, a rare decorative item fancier than the one purchasable through the standard buy mode, and two of the tarot cards, namely The Chariot and The Hermit, necessary for completing the tarot deck collection. It’s worth noting that the tarot cards may not always appear in his inventory, and players may need to first purchase other items, or interact with him multiple times and raise the relationship bar before being able to do so.
