Civilization 6 is full of fun and exciting moments and can easily invoke the “one more turn” feelings, as well as making it very hard for players to put the game down once they start playing. Like all other games in the franchise, Civilization 6 has carried on the tradition of condition-based victories, with some of them being great, and others not so great.
Victories such as science and culture have stood against the waves of time and are still considered the easiest and most fun, with fans having barely any issues with those victories. That doesn’t mean that the other victories aren’t fun or easy. However, some of these are seen as the worst in the franchise with fans having various issues with them, and one is seen as a let-down in comparison to its counterpart in Civilization 5. That doesn’t mean that these victories aren’t fun or easy, and shouldn’t be pursued, as all Civ 6 victory types have their merits and challenges.

The Worst Victories In Civilization 6
Domination Victory
This victory can be seen as a bit tedious with the number of combat units a player will need to take control of an enemy city. The premise of a domination victory is to conquer all other civilizations in the game, and it can certainly be a brutal challenge, especially against a civilization that has bonuses with combat units and can create special combat units.
It can still be satisfying when conquering an opponent’s city. Nevertheless, depending on how strong the AI is, this victory can be quite brutal and tough to win, especially in the late stages of the game when all the cities are very powerful. That doesn’t mean this victory has no entertainment value. In fact, Civ 6‘s domination victory requires a lot of strategy to win, maybe more so than some of the other victories.
Diplomacy Victory
Out of all the victories, the diplomatic victory added in the expansion Gathering Storm has been deemed the most boring and meaningless. Many players have achieved this victory purely by accident and have admitted that this victory type feels rushed and half-baked. This victory aims to gather enough diplomatic points through various methods.
It could be argued that if the diplomatic victory was more like the one in Civilization 5 where players had to gather enough votes to be elected world leader, it wouldn’t be so meaningless, and more players would enjoy it, as well as players not achieving this victory by accident. Still, there are ways to purposely attain a diplomatic victory in Civ 6 and turn it into more of a challenge while having fun pursuing it.
Religion Victory
The victory that is said to be the most tedious is the religious victory, and it is seen as the worst by most fans of Civilization 6. With very few unit varieties and only certain leaders having religious bonuses, the path toward this victory can quickly become tiring and repetitive compared to the other victories. A religious victory is essentially a domination victory, but with a different face, and it is a lot harder to hold onto the cities, especially if another strong leader is aiming for a religious victory in Civ 6.
The player will find themselves in a race to send out missionaries to keep their hold on another civilization’s city. What makes this even more tedious is that a missionary can only spread their faith a limited number of times before they disappear, and a new missionary must replace them, unlike combat units which only disappear if they’re killed. Despite this being the worst victory in Civilization 6, it can still prove to be a great challenge of speed and perseverance for those who can persist through the arduous victory conditions.
